I dug out a couple of small ones here at the ranch before my wife accused me of cutting down trees just so I could dig out the stumps. She thinks I'm having too much fun with my tractor, go figure.

Nice job. I also have a bx22 I have dug out some pretty good size bolders from my yard. I use the back hoe about as much as the loader. How are those optional stabalizer pads holding up do they grip better than the standard stabalizer pads. David

They grip fine in dirt and haven't marred the driveway yet since that is where I remove the backhoe when I don't need it.... Can't say if it is worth the extra cost for any one else, but it was for me....

Nice work Junkman!! Having fought one of these big boys this summer I share your sense of accomplishment for a job well done. I was inspired by GregJ's series on stump removal here. I could not justify a dozer rental to my wife after spending a truckload of cash for my tractor. I almost gave up once or twice but persisted over a two week of start and stops. Probably took me about 6 hours total but finally got it loosened up. I used GregJ's ramp method to allow me to get under it and pick axed a tunnel to loosen up some heavy clay. Finally was able to rotate the bugger using the BH by grabbing a large horizontal root. The picture show the moment of triumph as my FEL finally was able to lift my trophy stump up.

That's a nice "trophy" you got there. That should cost justify at least a quarter of the cost of your tractor.... /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif.... Just three more like that and it's all gravy after that.... right??? We can always try to cost justify these investments, can't we? Glad the ramp worked for you.
