The WICKED Root & Debris GRAPPLE!!!!!!!

Well there are some over achievers among us. ;)
I was suggesting a minimum. If your well above then your looking good.

Yeah, that would hard to maneuver. 74" is my widest grapple and it has two lids, but if I had to choose only one, it would be a 48" wide L or J bottom with one lid.

How about a rule of thumb of one inch of grapple width for every 100 pounds of tractor and ballast?

Rules of thumb are meant to be broken. While one inch of grapple per 100lbs of tractor might make a lot of sense when limiting your grappling tasks to moving brush, grappling duties that include digging stumps and rocks out of the ground would dictate a narrower grapple as optimal so perhaps 1" per 150-200lbs of tractor.

There is no rule or rationale for having a grapple the same width as a standard bucket. If the main task is picking up construction debris (as for most skidsteer grapple use) then wider is better. If digging or lifting heavy objects is the goal then a narrower lighter grapple makes more sense. It's easy to see why folks automatically assume that a grapple should be the same as their bucket but it really doesn't work that way in practice. More powerful tractors do not "need" wider grapples. Think of an excavator. They rarely have grapples more than three feet wide because they are not picking up light scattered debris but rather ripping out stumps and boulders. Sometimes smaller is better regardless of tractor weight/size/hp.

I have no argument there.

Well I was searching for "Bullet" to ask if he painted his orange or if it came that way from you guys. Maybe you can answer that question. Do these come black or can I get it in Orange. I will be getting my new to me 5240 in Monday or Tuesday and Id love a grapple with all my dead ash out back. Also, any feed back on guys with a 66" vs 72"

Also, I was curious if you sell your own 3rd function kit, diverter, hoses etc? If you carry other brands such as Kubota's, WR Long etc.

Not sure this is the right place to ask this as I have read other threads and I'm sure it's been answered, debated and put to bed but I would mainly be using the third function for a grapple I don't even have yet.

I read some of the answers over the weekend, so i'm typing this response based on that.
Most of your questions were answered, as expected! It's, very thankfully, pretty easy to get Wicked Grapple feedback from orange tractor owners around here.

Black is the color. We do offer the WR Long 3rd Function hydraulic kit. Currently, you can get $50 off when ordering the valve kit and grapple at the same time.

I've heard strong arguments from both sides concerning narrow or wide. It's really personal preference. The main reason I hear to go wider is for protection when pushing over roughage, whereas the main reason to go narrow is maneuverability.
Weight difference among various widths isn't much of a concern with the Wicked Grapple unless you're installing one on a small tractor such as a B or BX, where the preferred, and recommended perfect one is the 50" Single Lid.

IT'S OFFICIAL!!!........The Dual Lid WICKED GRAPPLE just got WICKED.... ER !!!

It's been over 2 1/2 years since the first one rolled out of our factory. We've made hundreds of customers happy by offering the perfect grapple for compact tractors.
Extremely lightweight yet incredibly strong, the Wicked Grapple has exceeded the expectations of EverythingAttachments and many of our valued customers.

The reviews submitted on our website include phrases such as "I love this thing", "It's everything Ted claimed it to be and more", "remarkably well made", "I would rather lose my left arm than my EA wicked grapple", "built like a tank", "amazed at the quality of this product", "magnificent job of engineering and execution", "Flawless workmanship, Excellent material" and "built tougher than most and much lighter than all" just to name a few.

The Version 2.0 is now available. Full re-design and overhaul? Not Even Close, but we did listen to what some of the critics had to say and are delivering what they asked for!

The Wicked Grapple now features a larger 37" opening, larger 2.5" bore x 5" stroke cylinders and an estimated 20" increase in clamping force!!

We are looking forward to making a video featuring this new version. Ted's plan is to hook it to a new Kubota L6060 mega compact tractor with Ag tires and LET IT EAT!! The tractor is ordered and should be here soon.

And only 349 lbs. That is the EA grapple I would buy. 37" opening is not tops but MUCH better than 30"

Agree. My ten year old light duty Millonzi is still going strong (with the patina of well earned battle scars) but if I ever needed a new one that's exactly what I'd get too. Cannot understand why so many new CUT grapple shoppers gravitate towards bigger heavier grapples. Waste of money and payload capacity.

And the old opening was 30"? (Like stated above?) just confirming

The Single Lid Wicked Grapple was recently developed and has always been 37".
The first version of the Dual Lid was 30" and the "Just Announced" new version is 37".

People love them because it is their first grapple and you don't make one with a wider opening.

Make one and it will outsell the 30" grapple.

Brush is light, so small tractors could handle it.

Yes, the new one will have a larger opening!

"Make one and it will out sell the 30" grapple. "

I'm quoting you on that and will hold you to it!!

Ted couldn't believe the # of Wicked Grapples that we've sold since the introduction.
