IslandTractor thanks for the recommendation and tips. I splurged and ordered the tractor with a front remote which came installed, it is capped off so I'll need a QA coulpler to mate with the grapple. Also ordered it with two rear remotes, one with float function, but they're bo'd from Kubota until sometime in March.
The hose spring sounds like a good idea I'll look into that.

The tractor was just dilivered today! :)

One of the most important uses for my Father in Law's Wicked Grapple is reclaiming some of his land that has been overtaken by vines. Our Wicked tines really promote a compact tractor's ability to push the tines through the ground while minimizing damage to the surface. The cross bar acts as a depth gauge to keep it from digging in too much.

That's right, Tom. Proven by EricTheOracle, the #1 roughest attachment tester in the land...well, right next to Ted.

Come on man! I've gotta be in the top 10! The new 100hp tractor should be here at the end of the month and my compact ea wicked grapple will be ready for whatever I can throw at it

Considered selling it and buying your utility tractor grapple but the way I use it I don't think I'll have any problem. Besides you know how island tractor is and he's always saying to get a small grapple...and maximize loader lift!

I'd bet that even with a utility tractor lift power the EA Compact will do fine. Just compare the grapple construction to that of the standard bucket on the new tractor. The place where you could do some damage would be in using the grapple as a bulldozer simply because of the mass/momentum that a big utility tractor can build up. My Millonzi "light duty" 48" grapple weighing something around 300lbs has stood the test of my DK40se with BH mounted and used to dig out roots or push over trees and yank large rocks out of the ground. I don't try to get up a head of steam and ram one side of the grapple into a concrete bridge abutment though. Just never had a reason to do that!

Load centered and lifted and I wouldn't hesitate to use the EA Compact to lift anything you could lift with your standard bucket. You may however find yourself constrained by the ?30-32" jaw opening but that's a different issue.

Anyone got feedback on planting EA grapple, while using backhoe, as opposed to standard bucket?

I rarely use my standard bucket. The non EA grapple is mounted about 90% of the time and I use different implements/attachments for ballast. The BH is used for big jobs or when I am taking down trees with the ripper/grapple combo. Works brilliantly.

Guess that means you're "full steam ahead" on shipping it to me as rapidly as humanly possible?

No worries, take your time. I'm one that prefers everything go smooth over going quick. I'll just watch all the youtube videos of grapples another dozen times.

Hmmmm. You should expand the selection for them pretty soon!:drink:
Travis

I will have pictures, but video is more difficult since I'm primarily a one man operation. My "toy" budget also goes for nifty things like grapples instead of hands-free video equipment. I'd hafta imagine it's pretty tough using one hand to shoot a cell phone video while operating a grapple.
