The WICKED Root & Debris GRAPPLE!!!!!!!

/ The WICKED Root & Debris GRAPPLE!!!!!!! #2,961
My grapple manufacturer went out of business about ten years ago. It痴 a Millonzi 48 light duty. The light duty designation is in reference to skid steers as the CUT grapple market was pretty small twelve years ago when I bought it. I think mine is roughly equivalent to Markham (now sold under ? name) Titan, and the smaller two lines of EA grapples. Biggest difference is that my grapple jaw opening is 42+ which is VERY nice to have.

I see the WR Long OBG1-64", grapple opens to 47? Capacity 3,500lbs, 656lbs. I know this is heavy as per you and others. I do appreciate the input & I take all into consideration looking for the right grapple for me. W.R. Long, Inc. | Tarboro, NC

Thanks to Ted and others, We know this series is tough!

Not the proper use of a grapple or tractor. This was for testing purposes.

Thanks Travis, The EA Wicked is also on my short list. I was planning to contact you, So I will ask your advice now, I have Kubota M5140 (4WD ROPS) w/ LA1153 Loader with the Ballast it痴 weight is 10,060+ lbs. Tractor is 52 hp.

Some have suggested I go with a lighter grapple, I have also looked at the Wicked Root Grapple V 2.0 rated 35 to 55 hp (my tractor does fit the rated hp range of it). But it is a utility tractor not compact tractors

Naturally the lighter the grapple the more the loader can lift on the other hand to light and it can Bend or worse I guess that's where Ted torture tests come in.. Thanks Bill

Case580c, keep in mind that the manufacturers underestimate the capabilities of their grapples. I wouldn’t hesitate for a moment to put an EA midrange grapple on a Kubota M. The EA top range is IMO too heavy for any loader with less than 3000-3500lb lift. The only advantage is the larger opening. I’ve been squawking to EA about getting their midrange opening up to 42+” for years. Easily doable if they wanted to. You should add your voice to the peanut gallery.

IslandTractor "I wouldn稚 hesitate for a moment to put an EA midrange" By Mid Range I assume you mean the EA Root Grapple For Mega Compact and Utility Tractors Built for tractors weighting less than 7000 lbs with loader & loader capacities under 2500 lbs for the 55", for the 73" grapple up to 3000 lbs lift capacity.

The WRLong wt cap is 3500 and Grapple Tines open to 47 inches. Where do I go to add my voice to the peanut gallery?

Case, that’s the Grapple I bought for my LSXR4046HC and it will go on my new LS XR4155HC tractor, that I’ll pickup Thursday. Mine is the 73” Single lid. You won’t be disappointed with one of them.

Good luck with your selection and please give Travis a call. He’ll spend all the time you need to assist with you with the best Grapple for your situation.

Great! PM me if you like. Glad to share my grapple experience.

If this will be your only grapple, the dual lid 66” would probably serve you very well. You will like doing business with Travis and EA. Regardless of all the other “noise” Travis will do his best to get you a grapple that does what you need. Take a day or two and look at all the many grapple threads on TBN, you’ll see uses you may not have thought of. As an example, I needed to move my 72” woods rotary cutter today. It was so easy to pick it up with a couple of chains and my grapple and set it where I needed it.

I’m partial to the WR Long 3rd function kit over messing with trying to use a rear remote as, you never have to move your hand from the FEL joystick. If you use a grapple a couple times a year maybe BUT, once you get a grapple you’ll use it more than you imagine now.

I just bought my 3rd WR Long kit, for my new LS XR4155HC.

Bad typo on my post. Hit the 6 twice instead hitting the 5 twice.

Meant to say that “the dual lid 55” would probably serve you very well”.

Sorry for the confusion.

Got my 60" single lid today. Haven't had a chance to really use it yet, but looks good. Thanks to Snowback for feedback on sizes and single vs. double lid, and thanks to EA for getting it out quickly.
