A family member eventually stopped smoking after years and years of trying. The problem they had was the habit/ritual of smoking. They would smoke when there was nothing else to do, smoking was something to fiddle with, and when they stopped smoking, they had to find something else to do, which was eating. They would stop smoking, start eating to have something to do, and they would gain weight. To loose weight, they would start smoking again. Danged if you do, and danged, if you don't.
They stopped smoking years ago but gained too much weight that they cannot loose. I guess at their age it really does not matter. They quit smoking but they could not stop the habit. I guess they should have taken up knitting. :confused3:
