Jim, all those pictures look very familiar to me. They could be shot in TX just as easy as SC. I have wild trumpet vine growing alongside a little creek on the back side of my place. Also, those wild blackberries look tasty. I do think ours have bigger thorns though.
My grandmother and uncle both used to have one of those push plows. When I was a kid, I plowed their gardens for them several times using one of those. As I remember, I worked half a day plowing for about $2. I thought I was rich.
We had one and my granddad had one. We had one blade that simply laid out the rows by making a little trench to plant the seed in. We changed to a cultivator blade the rest of the year. I preferred using that to using a garden hoe. So about 10 years ago, I thought I wanted one of those again and in the first place I had a hard time finding one, and then when I did find a new one and learned what the price was, I realized I really didn't want it nearly as much as I thought I did.
I did use that hand plow to plant my garden last year, this year I will use a new MF 1332 instead. Delivery is to be Monday on the 1332. I was hopping it would be here this weekend because turkey season is about to come in and that is where I will be then. LOL

I shot two armadillos in my wife's flower garden last night and tossed their carcasses out behind the barn.
This morning, I walked out and saw something on one of the dead armadillos. It was a male Bald Eagle. Went back in to get the camera and another male had already showed up. Here is the photo of the two male Bald Eagles chomping some armidillo:
A little while later, a huge female came in, she was much bigger than either of the males and all three of them had a good meal.
Some migrating ducks moving through my front pond...
You can see the dead grass above the waterline - Ike completely submerged our entire property - but this is a very hearty wetland area that is recovering much faster than the rest of the property.
Strangely enough - these ducks have stopped migrating and have been nesting on this pond for goin on 5 weeks. I am hoping they stay but doubt they will.
I have been wanting a disc to use on my food plots and my dad said I could have his father in laws old one. I am thrilled! I am also getting a plow and a cultivator that are perfect for my tractor. They all have Dearborn tags on them and I think they are from the 40's. It's all solid and heavy! He is also making me take a short section of railroad rail, said they used it to weigh down the disc.
As you can tell it's been a while since they moved. I will call these the before pix as I plan to repair as necessary and give then a coat of Ford blue to match my tractor. Did I say I was thrilled?
