Ridgewalker, that's some great stuff to be given. I don't ever think I've seen a slotted moldboard though. Was that modified by your father or someone else? Those cultivators are great, but the first thing I did to mine was to replace most of the hardware and all of the sweeps. Does your father have any extra feet and other parts for it? Even if not, I'm sure you can find what you need on the open market. You'll have hours and hours of tinker-time fixin' up those plows.

Well boys the snakes are really out for good now, kinda good to have these guys around they keep the bad ones away.

Working with the pole saw and cutting brush to keep the trails ready for fun.

Thanks for the info! I will check it out.

All 3 implements are in amazing shaper considering their age, that old iron is good stuff! I am sure the discs are stuck but I hope to be able to free them up without too much effort. I am thinking about WD40'ing the heck out of them and taking them for a drag.

Some of the mold board strips (don't know what else to call them) are broken but look repairable. It will give me a chance to work on my welding skills.

I can remember seeing a few plows with slatted moldboards around our area. I think they were good in real heavy clay soils....and IMO they sure wont hurt anything. I think their is just less surface for thick soils to hold onto....so they scour better (?).

Beautiful picture, but kind of hard to believe that you are still getting snow in April. We're way below normal here for temps too. We've broken quite a few records this year for low temps, which happened last year too, but more so this year. Is it normal to get snow this time of the year there?

Is that a red fox? It looks like a fox alright, but a darker color than I would have expected. Pretty picture anyway.
