Ah, yeah, I'm pretty sure I've got it where it should be for the input shaft to slide into the clutch unit and into pilot bearing. also The input shafts appear to have more of a tapered end than I am used to seeing on cars/trucks I've put clutches in. Looking like it was designed for ease of installation of a engine to transmission. My problem I see now, When I took the tractor apart The 2 pieces, aren't on the same plane. So the cherry picker idea may work. But I am considering trying to level them out with a couple floor jacks. Reason I'm limited on space, and my cherry picker is easily accessible right now.

Barry,

The problem with the floor jack is that graduation on height is not precise. shimming it might give more close adjustment but again the problem is you can't move when the motor is firmly on jack stand. How about using a floor jack with casters in lieu of cherry picket due to lack of room. Once you get it to the height you need, you can get a piece of 2x4 and carefully bang the bottom of the jack to the direction you need and slowly inch it to final destination. I think once yo have the dowels lined up stating the bolt might slowly suck up two sides together.

got it back together, so far so good. used 2 floor jacks and made some longer all thread, used those to pull the tractor together. Haven't gotten it all back together.the sheet metal and gauges need put back on. Only had time to work on so far. but it appears that the clutch pedal play is gone. I also did some test with the back wheels off the ground. all good.

Nice barry,

Did you check The pto rotation with the handle engaged and clutch out? Where you able to turn pto output shaft with and assistant clutching all the way ? you can simulate depressed clutch using a piece of 2X4 jammed in there to keep the clutch fully pressed in. Obviously, the test is intended to be done with the engine off.

Good progress:thumbsup:

Motor is started and tractor is working like it should now. I can let the clutch out and it grabs when its supposed to. all that stuff works now. PTO and such.
I'm Still buttoning up the sheetmetal. I'm trying to straighten it out while I putting it back on. PO had dropped something out of the bucket and got it twisted and out of place.

Nice Barry , slowly but surely you gained on it. Good job. The rest of the work will be a piece of cake. Share your progress pictures if you took them.

No i didn't think to take any pictures. I was just focusing on getting it put back. Yeah it took me awhile, but I got and am getting it. Real test when I get the loader attached and I go move the items I have needed to be moved. I've got 2 property's to go bush hog. possibly 2 more after those.
