If you are going to use the tractor for snow removal you need something like this. You will be all day with just a bucket. I can do a typical drive in my area, 300' long, in under 10 minutes. When I just used the FEL and rear blade it would take me 30.

Chris

If I get into making money out of doing snow removal, I will likely end up with something very similar to what you have there. I'd likely start with my ATV and use the FEL to move banks as the need arose and work my way into something like what you've got.

On another note, that's a beautiful job you did restoring that Meyer plow. I watched your thread and got jealous. I'd love to find something like that myself. You've definitely got a piece to be proud of there.

I'm assuming that plow has never been used?? :D

I join those who think you might be looking at tractors too large. I have an L4400 and wouldn't even consider mowing anything I called a lawn with it. Way too heavy and would destroy the mowed area in the Spring. You've already said you want spontaneity, well you'll lose that with a heavy tractor, weather will dictate when you mow.

I'm not selling Kubotas, just more familiar with their tractors. The B3030 with cab would do everything you want to do and can tread on a softer lawn.

As to the size of your property and the work you want to do, many, many operators on this website do more with SCUT tractors, just can't get a cab on them. :)

In my opinion you are setting standards in regards to your purchase that are going to cost you a lot of money and actually add seat time to the work you want to get done. I mow with my JD2210 w/60" MMM. My Son mows with his JD4310 w/72"RFM. He tears up his lawn and takes longer to mow. Sometimes bigger is not better. :)

I mow 5-7 acres with a 72" finish mower in 45 minutes. Its not a former cornfield either. You can do everything you stated with a front mount diesel mower with a cab and an optional front snowblower or front snow blade. My F935 has all this. Get an equivalent machine. When you put Gator brand blades on the deck, you can out hog a brush hog. I just did it 20 minutes ago in my back acreage. I didn't read one line in the OP about needing any 3pt equipment. Just get a lawn mower with a cab, heat and a/c.

So you mow in excess of 15MPH?

there is absolutly NO WAY you are mowing 5-7 acres in 45 minutes! NO WAY

I agree. I mow 3 acre with a 72" Caroni finish mower and it takes me 1:20 . I am probably really only mowing 2.5 acres time you deduct the drive, house, and barn. I also spend another 20 minutes plus trimming.

Only way to mow that type of acreage that fast is with a good commercial ZTR with a 72" deck. They can mow at about 12 mph.

Takes me 3 hrs 15 minutes to mow around 7 acres with an 84" RFM.
