With a smaller machine, but I have also rode the bucket downhill a few times.
Think of a catamaran, the bucket acts like a stabilizer.
Also drop the blade and you have a brake. Open the bucket slows you down
Scary the first time however.
The trick is to go straight down, no traversing.

I'm a rock crawler but I think this kinda thing is plain crazy. Just one little thing to slip it sideways and it's ***** over teakettle.
