I was looking at the PT bush hog and thinking about how I could redesign the angle of the quick attach plate, and then I saw that hole that I forgot about. This made everything easy thanks to some Power Trac engineer.👍

The stump jumper is 20” in diameter and the blades are 22” from the center of the hole. This is probably my favorite attachment, because I’m so amazed of how much work can be done with it. It’s also such a crude machine, as it has no mercy on brush or small trees.

Your photos give me some ideas for my bush hog. I would like to fix the quick attach plate at an angle like yours, so that I can come down on top of a brush pile like yours can. I have the PT bush hog. I already added the stump jumper and gull wing blades.View attachment 3421513
These kind of blades and bolt mounts should come OEM from PT on their brush cutters.

The other issue is all the debris built up around the front passenger side tire and front of the machine. Maybe not the best way, but I installed a large piece of L angle as a deflector on the rear discharge of my cutter which helped reduce the build up.

That’s a good idea.👍 I often think about doing something like that.

Yeah, it would be great if PT would offer the stump jumper and hinged blades.

The reason for using angle was to extend the deck enough to be sure the blades couldn't come into contact with the deflector. I was concerned that it might clog up the deck in use, but it hasn't been a problem. Most of the debris just shoots out the front now.

That’s good to know; I’ll keep that project in mind.

I once thought about using chains at the rear of it, but I’m glad I didn’t because those blades run close to the outside.

The blade tips on mine seemed so close to the edge of the deck that I was afraid they would hit chains, especially if I was on a slope where the chains could get under the deck. Already had the angle and it was easier to install than fabricating something to hold individual chains.
