Let it flow for awhile. Even the hottest debates die out once a horse is beat a few times.

Then someone in 20 years will find the thread and think, every problem in life has already been solved on tbn.

Should we also allow pornography? Or covid-19 but no pornography? Just wondering what the offended members are asking for.
You should certainly allow **** if I find it stimulating or interesting, but not if I don't:)

I appreciated the effort and time it takes to run a forum. But Muhammad, please consider, "the fact the motivated politicians and activists have a desired outcome for politicizing covid. That is very likely different than your users/customers who probably want to: a. find out if a online buddy is ok b. get real data on how effective the shots, treatments, or actual infections have been at preventing (or causing) serous problems for people."

Because some jackass politician (past or current) feels this is an election issue doesn't make it political.

I am clear about my beliefs, and quietly take my beating when I am overly vocal (and I try not to do it as a nuance).

The covid thread I saw shut down, could have just as easily been cancer, or a bad fall getting out of a machine, in that specific case I can say forum management was wrong.

That said, you do the work, you make the call, I would ask you to think about this one.

Best,

ed

If everyone that leaves a forum forever posts they're leaving forever, most forums would need a subforum for such posts.

Best wishes

'Freedom of Speech' (or 'speach' as sometimes declared :)) ... is strictly a restriction on the power of government - only - to prohibit speech. Appealing to Freedom of Speech anywhere else is a nonsense argument.
Why did you direct that at me? ;) I said the same thing with different words.

The problem is not politics nor moderation of "offending" politics.

The problem is posters on this forum insulting others in posts.

Even this thread has insults directed to other members (some who are not even currently active on this forum).

What does that tell you?

There were a few people who just posted numbers or talked about their experience on here who got censored.
It just would be nice to have a warning for those that were not off the beaten path so they could take it elsewhere vs. just delete.
Hard to learn a lesson when things just disappear in the night.

We are guests here, so I understand the rules need to be followed, but this one came down without warning and we lost a few goo people due to them getting slammed without really knowing why.

We don't read the rules everyday, so a note saying there is a change would be quite useful.

For some posts I have seen them go off track quite a bit and if Muhammad let them go he could personally get dinged by the gov. So he does need to protect himself and TBN.

But this one just came out of nowhere and really threw us for a loop.

Why should it be different than any other private property? Whether an internet site or privately owned bar or store, the owner had the right to set his own rules, so long as they don’t spill over beyond his ownership. We have the right to patronize it or go someplace else... although when somebody like the OP does the latter it is a loss to the site.

It’s a public forum, and though it may be private property in a sense, there are other factors to consider. One being the authority of the individual within the realm of rights that are “without question”. No one has three right to compel or forbid speech anywhere, neither on private property or public. Neither does a store have the right to compel mask wearing or vaccines.

Muhammad et al, are overstepping their authority
