Builder: Unfortunately, the seller in MN with the truck wouldn't respond to emails and I couldn't reach him by phone either. AFAIK the truck didn't sell on ebay. I have decided that to be in a better position for the next opportunity, I will sell my Dodge Ram truck so that I can move faster on potential deals. Right now I need to get rid of a couple of vehicles before I acquire any more.

I have seen some of the Isuzu Cab over trucks with dump beds which also seems like a possible option. They run about 7000lb lower than the limit (19k gvw) but still have a reasonable payload. The payload becomes important when the distance becomes more significant and one does not want to do too many trips. I'm not sure that would apply to me too frequently.

I recently saw an RV towing a large trailer with 2 tractors on it (I am guessing the owner was taking vehicles to tractor shows and living in the RV). So one gets the impression that RV's are permitted to tow heavy trailers, as long as it is not in any way connected to a business operation. An RV could theoretically be a Semi truck that has had the cab extended to provide the minimum requirements (cooking, sleeping and toilet facilities).

Make no mistake, those little Isuzus are very reliable trucks, but they aren't as "hard" as a 4800. I actually found yet another 4800 with a DT466 in it 1990 International 4800 466 4x4 High/Low Range:eBay Motors (item 350249182239 end time Sep-14-09 06:25:03 PDT)

Right now there are fantastic deals on diesel powered equipment in CA because they are forcing all owners of older to equipment to get rid of it for newer equipment with DPFs

I might still sell, but only if I can still get the other truck that's for sale to replace it.

Send me a PM.

yes, Rockwell air brakes

,an exhaust brake?
no, they weren't available then, but the truck has excellent stopping power fully loaded.

what is the wheelbase?
170"

how much are you selling it for?
Will discuss off-line.

where do you live?
PA

I'd doubt it because I'll be involved in an excavating job at that time. I would probably sell next spring unless I got enough $$ for it now.

Actually, I disagree on the Unimogs, at least the ones I drove. Coil spring suspension, Diesel engines and they did at least 65 if not 70 with a great big honking mine proof armored body on them. The ones I knew were open on top and only had glazing for the driver. That glass weighs a ton.

If you look closely below you can see the bullet pock marks in the glazing. Quite common to see them in every window on the vehicle. Makes me wonder how the GI's go to war and have so few casualties in their humvees 20 years later.

The unimog derivatives were finally replaced in active units by hull type vehicles like the Casspir. Handled better, easier access, better blast resistance.

Knowlton,

Before we get into this, I want to shoot you a price through your private messages. To check your private messages, look at the top of the page and click "private messages". It will take you to another screen where you can view my private message to you.

I'm not comfortable with giving out my email or phone number to someone I don't know. Hope you understand.

Not to dredge up an old post, but I thought it might be better to post it here than start a new one.

I finally got the dump hoist installed on my M35 and wanted to show it off. No, it's not a hard-core dump truck, but it sure beats what I had before!

The electric pump is a little slow, but works fast enough for me.

Very nice! Can you give me a little more info on the setup? I use mine at my orchard and would love to see how you did yours and what components you used. Thanks!

Here's my AM General M35A2 deuce, with air assist steering, multi-fuel, super single tires and "my tonka" stenciled on the back...
