Looking really good. Your gonna have to get some video of that working. Before long you will be a finish grader operator.

Thanks again, the truck frame was actually added a couple years back for a bit of weight and stiffen the back up, this is a cheap box blade, but I had planned on it holding the wheels too. I've had this idea for some time it just took longer to get started then I hoped. I did a quick measurement of the blade clearance when lifted and had just a touch over 14" so I'm pleased with that.

I defiantly will shoot a video when I get it home and start using it. As for operator, let's not jump the gun. :)

You've got some nice little details on your build, country! I like it.

I like how it's designed, and that you can still use with the 3pt hitch if you want to.

I doubt you'll ever go back to 3pt! Real nice conversion/work!

I have one and I pull mine with the 3pt ball hitch. I use the 3pt for fine adjustment, the lift cyl is to fast and if I slow it down then it takes to long to get to full hight. I also made one side adjustable, sure wished I had both sides adjustable. I need to pull both sides of the road up hill and keep it tilted to keep the crown, so now I can only pull one side, if have hills to grade you might think about making both sides adjustable. My tilt is manual and I don't have to change it much. You sure are doing a great job on it.

No experience here, just thinking outloud. If only side was adjustable and the cylinder was in midstroke when level would that solve leejohn's issue?

Yes it would allow the blade to be tilted up or down on either side, that's the only way I would want one to work. Other wise it would t do me much good. I didn't get much work done as I was hoping for Sunday, but I did get the tilt cylinder mounted on a temporary mount and have approximately 6" tilt up and also down. I'll get some pics tomorrow, I get to busy working and forget to snap pics now and then, before I know it I've built half the project and no pics along the way.

Well its home and hope to try it out tomorrow IF the weather holds out. Still have to paint the tilt cylinder i noticed it leaking the other day so figured i best replace the seals now and it would be good for a long time. Also found some black vinyl stickers laying around and decided to break up the solid yellow paint a bit.

Any more on how things are working out? I wish this site had a like button, but I understand why it dont too. If I missed it and you explained it, I apologize, but did you make it so when the wheel hyd cylinder is extended all the way, that the blade is perfectly level? Thanks.

I haven't been able to use the box blade yet, i had the tractor in the shop and then it rained and is to wet. :( As for the wheel tilt, I built mine so that when the cylinder is in mid stroke it's level, it allows me to tilt it in both directions.

I thought that's what you did cause I remembered talking about it.

Ok, thanks. I'll watch and see when you can get to use it. Looks like a cool tool to have, and there's no tool better than the ones you make yourself.

I finally took some time to shoot a few short videos of the box blade, not much but all I have right now. One is dragging a small garden to knock down some high spots and fill in some lows, I set the blade to just touch when I started and never touched it again till I was finished. The other is cutting dirt in front of my storage area and dragging the dirt in to bring the floor up to grade prior to spreading gravel.
