Throttle first since it is easy. The throttle on my L3010 is VERRRRY hard to move up or down. Normal? Solution if not?

Let's hear it for bad manuals again.

The L3010 manual describes a position control and a draft control (if equipped). It goes on to pretty much describe only those units that have both, including what looks like a 3 "position" position control, the lowest of which is float.

Unless I am utterly blind, I only have a position control and it is numbered from 1 to 8 I think. (maybe 9 or 10, doing this from memory.) Nothing on that guage is labled float.

So what gives?? Do I have a manual that doesn't describe what I have or did they forget to install something? If the installation is correct, what is float in this set-up? Can I float?

My box blade manual tells me to set it to float in some situations but darned if I know how to comply. I know this means another trip to the dealer for more instruction but I figured with all the 3010 owners here I would ask first.

Thanks in advance;

GS

The 3 point hitch only has hydraulic pressure for lifting. When lowered it "floats" up or down to the point you have it set at. Try this out, with no implement on the 3 point hitch, lower it and you should be able to lift the lower arms by picking up on them. This is why most guys will get the heaviest ground engaging implements (rear blades, box blades, discs, etc.) that thier tractor can handle. More weight equals more ground engaging force.

Sounds like your manual is describing a system with out posistion control. Has an up, a down, and a neutral posistion, rather than a lever with numbered posistions (posistion control) like your's has.

My Throtle position lever on my L3710 is also very hard to move. It has loosened up a little with use. I like it a bit stiff so that it can't change settings from vibration or inadvertent contact.

If you only have position control then the picture F-10462G should only show the topmost lever. The manual is confusing on this as it shows the draft control also when they are talking about the position control. The A "up" B "down" and C "float" that is mentioned in the manual are there for information on what the lever does when it is moved to these positions or in those directions.

Sounds confusing, but at this time of night that is the best that I can do.

I hope that this helps some,

Don

The throttle on my L3000DT was very stiff when I first got it but it did loosen up after a period of time. I did work it back and forth for a few minutes after spraying the linkage with WD-40. Tractor was turned off when I did this.

The good thing about being a little stiff is you don't change engine RPM's by accidently hitting ther throttle lever.

Well, I don't know if this link will show up the right way or not, but there was a thread a few months ago about how to adjust the throttle so it wasn't so stiff. I remembered it because my tractor arrived the same way. My throttle has since loosened up only a bit with use, so I'm probably going to loosen it when I get some time.
