Through the hood exhaust 3320

I'd say that's right Roy from the number of times my ROPS hits them. I guess you have to weigh whether you can live with the smell or the branches. To bad you can't fold it like a ROPS!

Rob

At the beginning of the mowing season, I make a first pass with the tractor and trim back as many low hanging branches as I can.

Rob,
I mowed for a few hours last night and the odor is much better. I do need to do some limbing though.

Caliber,
Deere claims it's for sensitive vegitation so I guess there's some truth to it. How's it for odor, any different?

Thanks Caliber, that's good news.

No problem Rob. My biggest problem is I have pretty bad allergies. After a couple of hours last night no problem from exhaust or dust and grass. Very happy with the set up.

Thanks Caliber, that's good news.

You will never regret going with the vertical exhaust. Exhaust fumes totally went away after vertical installation. Prior to installing exhaust fumes would bounce off the FEL bucket and have my crying all afternoon. Mine was done on a 4520 and was very simple, markings under the hood show where to drill.
Good luck!

Thanks,
How's that seat cover? Does it slide around a lot?

Not like I thought it would. I actually have the top bolt on my SMV triangle through the fabric, and there is a loop and hook that fasten across the rear of the seat. You can kinda see it in this shot.

Jeez!! That's a tight fit. Doesn't even look like your stack would clear the rafters.
Also looks like a bear to climb on and off your 3120 once it's in there...

I thought that I would just throw this out even though it is not about the 3320. I have a JD 330 lawn tractor and the diesel smell was a real punishment. The exhast comes out the front side of the engine cowl. I connected, with a muffler clamp, a flexible metal exhaust pipe. I bent it so that it ends up going down and to the rear. I clamped it to a flange with a nice hole in it which is just above the cutting deck. It is quiter and the smell is gone. Is there any reason why this is a bad idea?
