Yesterday I looked at a used Tifermec BA22 backhoe. These look like a solid Italian made backhoe. It has a unique "fixed frame" 3pt which I have not seen before. Found their specs on-line but little in the way of North American dealers so I not sure if parts would be hard to find if needed down the road.

Anyone have any experience with Tifermec backhoes or their fixed frame?

I picked up the BA22 backhoe last night. Funny thing was I was not actively looking for a backhoe. It was on my attachment "Want" list but on the long list and not the short list.

If it stops raining I'll post a few pictures of it and the unique fixed frame for those interested. This model has a 10 foot reach, a 7-1/2 foot digging depth and 180 degree swing angle. It has the 15 inch bucket.

3PH mounted backhoes are notorious for breaking tractors. That's why a subframe (to distribute the loads and stresses) are recommended.
So, be careful when you use this 'hoe...otherwise you may end up with a broken Kubota.

I understand what you are saying Roy. Backhoe subframe in on the to do list. The seller had it on his TC30 for the past few years without issues.

He already has a Kubota loader installed .... so he may well have the Kubota equivalent of a subframe .... which ties the front and rear of the tractor together.

At least that is how it used to work on the "B" series Kubota's .... and how it is on my B2910 and BH4690B backhoe.

The only additional thing that came with the backhoe - for the tractor itself - was a heavy-duty, reinforced top link bracket for the 3PH.

I have heard of them, but I have never seen one. This unit seems to be
in the 6.5' hoe class.

I like how they specify the required tractor WEIGHT. This may be the
first vendor I have seen that does that.

As for the "fixed frame" 3-point attachment, all the 3-pt hoes I have
seen provide triangulating hitch-stiffening members so that the hitch
does not rise up under use. Tifermec may be unique in that they seem
to use 2 standard 3-pt toplinks (instead of brackets) to do that job.

While looking for ideas for a subframe I came across this 3pth Koyker backhoe which also uses toplinks to provide the triangulating hitch.

Sooooo, do you think the 2 additional standard 3-pt toplinks that Tifermec uses would be ok? I realize the rigid mount is the way to go but this set up looks quite strong. Again I think the rigid is better just wondering what others think.

In all honesty I don't know. I have only played around with the backhoe for 20 minutes or so learning the controls. Since this is the only backhoe I have every used I have little to compare it to.

By "rigid mount", you mean a subframe, correct? A subframe is always
better, except in cost.

Now if you are comparing the use of cat 1 toplinks above instead of the usual
anti-lift bars that come with subframe mounts, then I would be confident
that using toplinks would be about as good.

The photo shows the braces you get with Woods 3-pt hitch setups. These
2 Z-shaped braces may have more meat that a std cat 1 toplink, but I
am confident the std toplinks will be fine.

Of course, I am in no way suggesting that anyone should put a hoe on a cat
1 3PH, especially on a little B.
