TIG Torch Question

   / TIG Torch Question #32
I have a new shop, cant afford to insulate or finish the inside yet. I'm still working in it, had to change the oil in the horizontal bandsaw to 10 weight, was so cold the gear oil the previous owner put in would kick the motor overload.........
its been in the 30s and 40s on my side of the river :drink:

   / TIG Torch Question #33
I normally use 1.75 Reader glasses, but when TIg'ing, I have a pair of 3.0's so I can get downright close to see the tip.

Working the filler rod and properly "Dabbing" is my weakness. The good welders can do this so smoothly.

The HF had jacked up my old cell phone, and my buddy's car remote at work, so I recommend leaving electronics some distance away. Your experience may vary.

Watch 6061 guy on youtube, he makes it look easy.

What welder and phone do you have? I always leave my phone in my pocket and have never had a problem, this was with both a transformer and inverter machines and a few different phones.

My welding table doesn't have an earth ground either, using a Dynasty 280dx with a Samsung S5, and now an S9. So far no problems in the last 4years with the phones. Hopefully it was just coincadental with yours.

Believe it or not, With High Freq and pulse, An earth ground is not a bad Idea. Might help you a lot if you have a pace maker.

Look at a Miller owners manual and they show a drawing of a welding room WITH everything grounded. All the electrical circuits, etc....
