Still armchair shopping for a 20-30 HP CUT with a hoe.
One thing I hate about all the backhoes on CUT's, is the way thet stick WAY out the back, some appear to hang WAY out there.

Now the Cub-Yanmar "looks" like is some what tight up to the rear of the Tractor ?

Are there any after market backhoes that are really compact to the tractor, or any CUT's that the seat spins around to use the hoe ?

Also, do the hoes run off the tractor Hyd, or does the rear PTO spin a seperate pump on the hoe ?

Thanks,
Nick

Only cut i've seen with the hoe tucked in tight, where the seat spins around is the new 23, 26, and 2920 Kubotas

Look at the Woods groundbreakers. The boom looks like it is modeled after the large CAT hoes. The dipper boom seems to tuck up closer to the main boom. The main boom is not straight. but has a bowing over curve to it.

I have that Woods groundbreaker. I love it. Its a b-70x on a mahindra 2015. I have it on a PTO pump, because it has more flow than the tractors pump, and I can run it at a much lower RPM. Do a search on my posts, and you'll see a picture of it. Another member had to post it because I didn't know how.

I think when you say a backhoe is "sticking out" its because of the size of the hoe. What I mean is for example, a kubota BX hoe is made for that size tractor. I couldve got a 6.5 foot hoe on my Mahindra, but I went with the max size for the machine. The EX3200 Cub/Yanmar has the same size hoe as my Mahindra, but the tractor itself is bigger, so the Hoe looks more proportional.

The Kubota BH75 sits about as close to the tractor as any I've seen, though the new BH65 looks good, I haen't seen one yet. The BH75 is available on the B7800, B2630, B3030, L2800, and L3400 tractors, and maybe others. I've attached a pic of that hoe on a B30 series:

Driver,
Not the size of the hoe, I meant the the pivot point of the main boom is 3-4' behind the tractor, making the whole backhoe attachment stick way out behind the tractor, In other words needing 40 acres just to turn around.

Look at the hoe on My 580 in my small picture, it is up tight to the tractor, looking at your pic,, it looks like the hoe is a few feet behind the tractor.

They look like they stick out the back, because they DO stick out the back. These BH's aren't an integral part of the CUT and some are mounted to the 3PT. Even those with frames will stick out the back to clear the tires and such on the back of the tractor.
Are you worried about stresses or just over-all size of the tractor and hoe? Your photo looks like the seat will swivel around to the back to run the BH. Most of the ones you're looking at have their own seat that you get off the tractor and then get back into the BH.

Well, Nick, you are right that hoe attachments often hang out way too
far to the rear, even with subframe mounts. This is a real problem with
ground clearance and it adversely affects the drivability of the smaller
tractors.

Truly integrated TLBs with a sgl dual-purpose seat are out there (Kub B21,
B26, etc) and they have close-mounted hoes.

I made some subframes for JD955s (33hp, but only 2000#) and I mounted
the hoe as close as I could. I still used 2 seats, but they could not be
folded down at the same time.

Most hoe attachments can be adapted to use a PTO pump, but modern
CUTs have plenty of hyd flow to run them.

dfkrug, You did a VERY nice job of getting that hoe tucked in tight. Most people do not take the time or effort to get it in close. I like the look of what you did.

In my opinion, the outriggers should just clear the tires. That is where it should be. Then there is less stress on the tractor and better maneuverability.

Mine sets back but, is as close as it can be. I have a rear fuel tank so the options are limited. The seat back is just about touching the fuel tank.

Again.... only factory CUT i've seen this way is the new Kubota 2x20 series. Check them out.

Thx, Mike. Yes, one of my primary goals was to bring the outriggers as
close as possible (plus a small margin) to the back tires. This approach
did require that I re-work how the seat is mounted. Fortunately, this
CUT does not have a rear fuel tank like some B Kubotas and the Kioti
CK20, among others.

Attached photo is of a factory early style Woods subframe on a a Kubota
L2550DT. That hoe was so far out back that it adversely affected
driveability and ground clearance.

CIDERTOM, the OP was referring to 30hp and under tractors, but yes
all integrated TLBs have their hoes close-in mounted. I think the BX24 with
the BT601 hoe is well-designed, too. There is a lot to be learned from the
B21/26, the L39/48, the 580, the JD110, and other industrial hoes.

Other than those fine TLBs already mentioned, another is the Kioti LK3054, I think it has an integral backhoe with swivel seat. And it is removable so that one can use the 3ph and PTO.

I have a frame mount 7.5' Rhino on a Kioti CK25. I have no trouble manuevering with it. Digs great. Loads fine on a dovetail trailer too.

DFKRUG,
Yor set up is what I am after.
I would go with the kubota BX series, except 1) the tires are way to small, it "appears" to be built like a glorified lawn tractor.

Yes, I am spoiled with My Case 580 super E, but it is way to large for all my land scape projects. and I need a 3 point for a few projects.

I would love a 580 shrunk down to Mahindra 2615 size with the 3 point.

I did not mean to exclude the one-and-only Kioti integrated TLB.....I
would have bought one instead of my CK30 if it had HST. It has a
different hoe (2376), vs. the std 2375 that Kioti sells. Can't find my
pix of it. :-( Better mount, too.

I have heard plenty of good things about the Rhino hoes. I hope to see
more of them.
