Buying Advice Tiller options GC2400

Tonutti has been building tillers for a very very long time. Tonutti has been in the US with tillers since the 70's. They're not new to the business. They're imported from Italy.

I have been in the business since 1977 and this is the first I have heard of the Tonutti tiller. Who sells them and where are they sold? Yes, I know Tonutti Is Itallian. Ken Sweet

So KKR, chain bad/gear good? Thoughts?

I work for a company that only builds gear driven rotary tillers. Obviously I think they're the best! :)

But seriously, to me, yes they are better. No idler or chain tensioner to adjust, and no chain to wear out. I'm not going to lie to you and tell you that you will never have trouble with a gear driven tiller. But I will tell you that our company has very, very few issues with the tillers that we manufacture. Make sure that you keep oil in the gearboxes, and you shouldn't have any trouble with it.

When you couple the six tines per flange, the fact that it's all gear driven, and the fact that we sell so many tillers, I think this tiller is extremely hard to beat. Especially in a sub-compact design. I don't know of anyone else that builds a sub-compact gear drive tiller.

I wish you luck with whatever you decide to purchase!

I've seen them on dealers lots for as long as I remember, but I've only been doing this since 2000. So, I deferred to my boss who has been in the farm equipment / farm store business since the early 70's, and he says they approached him way back then to buy them for the company he was working for at the time.

Maybe they just didn't get to your area. I travel the entire US, so I've seen several dealers that carry them.

Yes, I think they're pretty good chain drive tillers, I've not ran one though. I don't have anything bad to say about them if that's what you're asking.

Roudebush equipment, Westfield, IN is where I just bought my GC2400 tonight. They not only sell them, but said they are the Midwest warehouse for them as well (Tonutti that is)

The product that I've been talking about is a model: TG-48-XB. You may have accidentally looked at just the TG-48. The TG-48-XB tiller was designed specifically for sub-compact tractors. I'm not going to tell you that the TG-48 won't work on your tractor, but it was designed for larger tractors.
