Found a used Land Pride tiller ...... 4 foot model in like new condition. What would be a typical asking price for this implement. Seller is advertising for $1000. Is this a good buy?

If not, whats the best 4ft. tiller for the money?

I want to run this tiller behind my JD 2305 tractor.

thanks!

I didn't see any info for a 4' tiller from LP. They advertize a 42" and a 50" and if the one you are looking at is in good shape I would buy it. They have a few on TractorHouse.com new for ~$1800.

Depends on if it is a reverse rotation and a slip clutch. I paid $1900 for my new RTR0550 with slip clutch.

King Kutter makes a pretty good tiller and it costs less.

Ken, that sounds like a well built tiller. Is that a typo on the working depth? Seems a little shallow. I run a Befco and it has a working depth over 8".

Anyone have a pic or schematic showing the innards of the all gear drive, where they replace the chain drive? Appears the all gear is an advantage, but wonder how much and why. Thanks.

I am pretty sure that is a Typo, I have run about what yours does with one of these machines. However, I don't see many tillers do 8 inches in 1 pass until you get into the larger diameter machines. Ken Sweet

The good thing about the King Kutter unit it's buit so the 4Ft unit is offset a little to help cover the tire track on the right side. It is built better then many Italy brands, and priced much lower. The King Kutter brand is probably the US top selling units, so that is why others try to copy it.

I've had vary good success with the King Kutter tiller units.

I agree they don't usually dig down that far in the first pass unless your in pure sand.
