Timber Frame Build - Round 2

That will look perfect behind the bar, but will people be able to stand in front of it for taking pictures?

They could walk behind the bar if they wanted to although this one is probably only 4-1/2 ft wide. It's not as big as the one I made for the house. Got a coat of poly on today. I'll do one more tomorrow than it will be ready to hang. One thing I like about the couple of flags I've made is the varying depth of the stripes. In person it really adds some character and depth to the piece.

You are an artist too.
Thanks for the compliment. Should have the flag on the wall tomorrow. In the mean time, here's a few pics I intended to post but was just too busy. First is the trim detail on the windows. I ended up doing the same style as we did on the home build. These took me a bit longer than anticipated though since I had to build jam extensions for all of them. On the home build it was just a matter of casing the outside.

Also here are a couple of pics of the new HVAC duct work above ceiling. These are the same guys who did my geothermal on the house and did another top notch job. Before the vents were direct out of the side walls. Now with all of the distribution it is quieter and much more even heating. Rectangular duct is insulated. I'll have my spray foam crew cover the uninsulated round piping.

I've been working anywhere from 15 -18 hour days the last two weeks here trying to wrap things up before our first official event May 5th. Just now getting to a point that I can post some updates. We are getting pretty close now. The two big items left are the groom area and stonework. I am picking up stone tomorrow in Oklahoma and sheetrock finishers are working on the groom area now.

Here's a few things we have finished up since last update.

#1 Sound & projector
Our sound install turned out great. Everything is in-ceiling including the powered subs. We have 4 different connection points. Even coverage throughout the venue with complete zone control. We have 3 zones on the vaulted ceiling area, one zone for the lower wings, a zone for patio, and one for bathrooms. We are using a soundcraft UI mixer for the zone control. It can be controlled anywhere from any web connected device which is nice. You can stand outside on the patio for instance and adjust the sound level from your phone. We painted the speakers a cream color so they blend with the ceilings. In the pic below you can see the round speaker covers but they are barely noticeable.

#2 Sidewalk
Sidewalk install is complete from the venue to the wedding patio now. Turned out great. It is all colored and stamped to match the venue concrete.

Take a bow, that is nice!

You do all the little things, looks like you put a ton of thought into all of this. The sidewalk circling the tree is a nice touch as well.

I still say you have a "knack" with putting the pieces in the right places.

Thanks everyone. My sidewalk contractor started to run string lines for forms around the outside of the tree. I had him circle it despite his disagreement. He was worried about root damage long term. I ran some conduit under the sidewalk for power and told him if we ever start to see signs of damage the tree could be cut and would make a nice place for a fountain.

I made a trip to Oklahoma yesterday to pickup all of the stone veneer for the outside of the building. I plan to start stonework this weekend. Getting the stone done should really tie everything together on the outside. Today's plan is to start trimming out all of the doors for the bridal suite upstairs.

Why Oklahoma? Better prices or just the only place to get the type of stone that you wanted?

Both. Same stone I used on the wedding patio columns. Was able to pick it up direct from the supplier doing the cutting there. Real stone veneer here after going through a couple of middle men runs anywhere from $9-12 sq/ft. Cost going direct was $4.50 sq/ft.

What city? I'm not currently looking for stone, but with what it costs here in Tyler, I've wondered if it was worthwhile driving up to Oklahoma and finding out where it comes from and buying it direct. At half the price, that would make it more then worthwhile!!!

Finished the stonework and set the granite on the side area of the bar we added last night. Starting to wrap up a lot of the little items that needed finished now.
