Thank you everyone for the comments. Kyle - yes I will be glad when I can go home and be done for the day. It's getting close to a year since things got started so I'm ready for a break. I think the only thing I haven't posted so far are pictures of the laundry room and part of the master bathroom.

Our air units were plumbed into the water heaters last week so the next billing cycle should be our first true gauge of our energy usage. I'm also curious how the house does during the winter and how much heat the fireplace provides. I'll probably update this thread one more time with final pictures in a month or two and may include a short write up on the process as a whole. Thanks again everyone.

Congratulations, your house looks amazing. It's truly a work of art and a place where you will be happy for the rest of your life. I'm always amazed at people who don't seem to care what their home is like, it's sad, because when you have a home you love, that's where you always want to be.

Thanks so much Eddie. Thank you for your input as our project unfolded as well. I had followed several of your threads prior to starting our home and appreciate the advise given.

Jeremy - this is great! Absolutely love your bent over the rear porch
Almost time to start getting your yard in :)

I'll be interested in your results with power usage. We have found that Dec and Aug were our highest use months, but only about 900kwh's more than our lowest use months of April/Oct

Updated pics of the outside of the house. The stonework is complete now.

I think your place is amazing. I like the way you have stone on the posts of the short porch on the front of the house. I am getting ready to renovate an old barn on our place and are planning to have a timber frame porch running along one side of it. I was wondering what are the dimensions of your stone column bases on your porch. I have not yet decided on how wide and tall to make mine Thanks, Rick

I put hampton bay fans in my house yrs ago. most have been replaced, didnt last. one the motors burnt. Imho, hunter fans are much better. i just installed one from costco and one from amazon. both easy to install.

Love the house.

Hi Rick,

still no internet at the house so I have to check in at work. I'll get some measurements this afternoon for you and let you know.

We couldn't take the mud any longer and decided to go ahead and try to get our yard established. It's been a really cool summer so far and hopefully the trend will continue. We have hit the weather perfect up to this point. Mid 80's for a couple of weeks now and lots of rain the last week.

I had a couple of good helpers getting the yard prepped and straw mat laid out. Tennis shoes and underwear for outside attire seem to be one of the benefits of country living Landan is enjoying. lol. Grass is coming in well.

looking good!

Last year I think that was the accomplishment my wife most enjoyed as we have dogs that would bring in #'s of mud each time they went to do their business outside.

What are your plans for the left side of the house - looks to be a door to nowhere (or a very big step)
