My wife bought some brand out of a renovation catalog because she liked the "old farm-house style" look. It was pretty cheap in price. When it came, I installed it. Noticed in the "instruction" manual numerous typos. That was about three years ago. Well a few weeks/months ago, no water was coming out of the faucet. I took it apart, some tee valve must have picked up sediment from the well. And well, the valve just was not repairable. She took the valve and the "manufacturer" name to some plumbing stores and got laughed out of most of them. Yeah, overseas brand.... So... no kidding.....I track down the "manufacturer" and find a web site with a 1-888 number, the faucet kit, and really poor English. More "red flags", but I figure, what the hey, new faucet or new valve. I do the unthinkable and call the number. Yep, really poor English, BUT, they say send a picture of the valve and they will see if they have one. A few minutes later, I get an e-Mail instructing for PayPal ordering. $20 bucks over PayPal and like two days later, I get the valve and hopefully another three years out of the faucet before I need to re-do the whole kitchen. The valve assembly is brass, but some flap in the thing looks like a plunger, obviously a filter would have prevented the issue.
I just cannot think about spending 500 bucks for a darn kitchen faucet. So yeah, cheap works in my case.
