Time to Chain Up the Kubota

[snip]Am preparing for next year. Will use what I have to get by this winter. The chains and spacers add a grand to the tractor cost. But I can eat snow for a few more months. Wife traded me in for a new model, so I traded the tractor in for a new model too.

Boscoe, sounds like you need a hug.

I guess I move snow differently then some. I've found that when using snow removal equipment that to be working with it chains have not been needed as the tractor is not driving in deep snow at all and often I'm on bare blacktop! For working on dirt surfaces where possible ice could be a problem we have been using screw in studs. Traveling down roads from site to site they do make some noise but the ride sure is smooth.

I was just going to ask if anyone was using them!

Today was the first time I plowed snow since that 12 inch's I got last Thanksgiving, my gravel driveway wasn't frozen, what a pain that was. My ground has be bare for a few weeks, I got about 5 inch's last night, but at least the driveway was frozen, good in one way, bad in another. I need one storm to fill in the low spots so I wont keep banging into rocks, I don't have any shoes to put on my old plow, might have to make some.

The next storm if I get some before this snow goes away, I'll have to put the tire chains on for the first time this season, or is it called, "Chain up the Kubota", usually I already have them on. Today my tractor likes to spin on the frozen ground, almost like ice with some dirt and a lot of rocks on top.
