Very sharp machine, I hope your ownership experience is more positive with this new tractor than what you endured with the 2210.

The bucket hooks appear um, uh, well now, do I dare say this word.....ENGINEERED. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Sorry, could not resist that.

Well, I think it will be a better experience. It was a long haul but I must say that I really can't complain. I guess I'm only REALLY P.O.'d when something is wrong and the company doesn't make it right. JD and my dealer did right by me. Wishing for lost time to come back is a waste of more time and energy, and a futile effort.

What are your initial "feel" impressions of your new machine vs the 2210? Does it seem "bigger" of not? I would be interested in your comparison comments after a few hours of seat time......

They might have designed the ROPS to accept the back Hoe 46BH a little easier with more head room...

Nice machine! best of luck with it!! what are you using for ballast?

Hi, Fred.

It does seem bigger, but not so much so that my wife or twelve-year-old feel they will be intimidated. It is, in fact, only slightly bigger in its footprint and height.

The turning radius is only a couple of inches greater than the 2210. The width of the rear tires with turfs is about 51", 3 inches bigger than my 2210. Sitting on the machine you can sense a little higher vantage point from larger tires, but for all intents and purposes it doesn't "feel" like a very big jump up from the 2210. FWIW, I felt like I was making a pretty big jump in size when I went from my 445 to my 2210.

I don't even have an hour on the clock yet, so I cannot comment on the hydraulics or power issues. A few spins around the drive yesterday alleviated all my fears about losing maneuverability and responsiveness. The engine definately sounds different than the 2210, but it's only had a few revolutions at this point. I can already say that I am going to appreciate the position control on the 3PH, the seat safety bypass for using the rear PTO, and the true CAT 1 hitch. The rear turfs seem very wide and the tread looks like it will be both forgiving on turf and agressive enough for most snow. The 410 loader looks and feels like a heavier loader, albeit with no actual work done to support that statement.

More later, for certain. I intend to report and post plent of pics. I found a woefully limited amount of pics and discussions specific to the 4110 when I was in the decision stage.

Hey, Duc.

Don't know this for sure, but I think I recall seeing a requirement for a Tall ROPS option when purchasing the 46 backhoe. It seemed like JD was saying that the standard and folding ROPS were not spec'ed for use with the backhoe. Don't quote me, though.

My primary ballast is my soon-to-be-delivered 60" box blade. I am seriously considering the ballast box, though, becasue of size and rear draft in tight places. With all my suicase weights I can get the box blade well above 700 pounds, but it is five feet wide, afterall.

Hi BigPete,

Your manual will have the diffrent breakdowns on ballast.
In my case I have loaded R4's and the ballast box with 700 lbs of weight. It really makes it stable, and a effective digger with the right ballast...a toothbar is a real nice inexpensive and removable option..

Good luck with it !!

Now, don't quote ME, but I am pretty sure the folding ROPS IS the Tall ROPS. That's how it is on the bigger rides. And Deere switched so that only the Tall Folding ROPS is available on those. Probably a lot easier in the long run...

Hey, RockyRidge,

The JD configurator lists a "Tall ROPS Upper Hoop Kit" as being required for use with the 46 hoe when you spec out a 4110. When I was going from my recollection, I was thinking it was a separate "Tall ROPS" that was required for the hoe. I'm guessing (again, don't quote me) that if you use a folding ROPS with the 46 hoe on the 4110, you are required to purchase the Upper Hoop kit for $109. Part number LVB25573. I'm also guessing that this doesn't apply to the "big dogs" based on what you mentioned.

I should know better than to count on my long-term memory in these matters /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

I saw a Massey GC2300 TLB that had the operators forehead resting on the front of the ROPS while in use. Whew, do I wish I had THAT setup? (not!) So, it might be a pain to have to order a differant ROPS, but it is probably better than them not offering one...

I'm sure this is a great tractor, I am also sure I would BANG MY HEAD on that ROPS...

Anyway, if anyone is going to get the hoe, be sure that all parts match, they can sure move quickly!!!
