Tire brand/experiences

I'm in the market for new tires (R1 tread) for my 186d. Have a Firestone store in town but they don't handle tractor tires, nor does the TSC have the type or size i need (9.5 x16 rear and 6 x 12 front).

So seems like they'll have to come from the internet.

Was looking at "Carlisle Farm Specialist"-- anybody have experience with these?

What about "the imports" that tend to be cheaper-- do they last well or run into trouble prematurely?

Other brands?

I have had an absolute tire nightmare going on with my little Yanmar 1700d. You may have seen the thread. :laughing: My tractor came with Chinese Milestone brand tires on the front, and the original Bridgestones on the rear. I would never buy Milestones again as the sidewalls blew out on both front tires from woody debris. I replaced them with Bridgestones. The rear Bridgestones are a fortune, so I am trying out some Indian brand called Alliance for like half the price.

I bought mine from local mom and pop tire store. Rears are from India Fronts are china. They were installed with new tubes cheaper than I could buy off the net. The Chinese fronts have held up to every thing I've put them through. From picking up big (HEAVY) logs with the grapple to bucket loads of dirt. They have held up . I didn't want Chinese fronts ,but they said that was the only tire they could get. I've been impressed with the Chinese front tires.

Try "tuck tires" they've got all kinds of tractor tires......

I have had trouble in the past with tires that were low cost. I had the sidewalls start to crack and eventually blow out. So now I only use name brand tires and check the load rating for what I am going to put on them GVWR. Carlisle,firestone, goodyear, galaxy ,solid deal, titan are a few good brands.

I put Swallow branded tyres on mine and they have been good. I think they were made in Taiwan.

Any brand of tractor tire is going to last 20 years under normal conditions. Bridgstones will last 35-40 but you pay for it.

ive had good luck with the BKT brand and they are reasonably priced. Have them on my Massey and Kubota. You may want to check Tucker Tire on the internet. Firestones are pretty expensive so I went with the BKT's

Oops...I meant "tucker tire". They are a huge farm tire dealer in Tennessee. They sell many brands, at great discounts. I've ordered tires from them before and very happy with them.

I put chinese tires on the front,blew the sides out first time I put a load on the fel.went back to Bridgstones.If you look on Amazona you will find all makes and prices...russ
