Chains Tire chains

   / Tire chains #11
2" spacers on the wheels. When attaching the 2-link ladder heavy duty chains I noticed on the inner side of the right wheel well a couple unshielded lines. So focused on the minimal space in the posted image I didn't really notice the inner lines. Looks to be more than adequate clearance with the wheel spacers.

Bit of "buyer's remorse". Thinking the diamond link chains would have been a better option. Pluses of sideways traction and maybe less fiddling around mounting the chains. Bit of loader work after the chains were attached. Noticed based on the tensioners that the right side chain needed tightening. Didn't deflate the tire on that side enough when mounting the chain. Left side was deflated to ~7psi. The right to +11psi. I run at the recommended 17psi. Didn't think it would make much of a difference. Apparently it did. More fiddling getting the ladders evenly spaced. Thought. Diamond links.

Of course I just jinxed any early snowfall. It did snow once after I mounted the chains. Melting from the ground up and too warm for November temperatures melted any snow not at elevation and on N side facing pitches. Local ski area has positioned their snowmaking equipment. Never need snowmaking up here until mid-90s. Opening day was usually the first weekend of December. Now even with snowmaking mid-December is now considered an early start. No more 100 day seasons.
