Well....I am the proud new owner of a YM2020D.

I ran it a bit today on my grass and the AG tires tore it to shreds. Of course it didn't help that at one point I had the parking brake set and dug myself a hole in reverse:laughing::laughing::laughing:

So....I have 9.5-24 on the rear and 6-14 on the front.

Questions:
1. What are these tires and rims worth if I find someone willing to trade my Ag's for their turf's?. Anyone interested?????
2. I cannot afford the $1600 + shipping price tag at this time for new Rims and tires at Hoyes.
3. Did any other tractors (Deere, Kubota etc use these tires/rims with the same bolt pattern and size that I could look for used?

Much Appreciated

9.5 24 is what I have on my YM 2000 so a ym240 sold by JD should work for you;)

Then don't drive on the lawn. :D:D:D

I have read there were special turf tires made to fit those narrow rims. Dunno if they are still available, or what to do on the front.

If you do a straight across tire/wheel swap with another Yanmar owner you both might need to change the front axle ratio too. I think my YM240 (YM2000) parts manual shows several ratios depending on tire choice.

Getting a riding mower might be cheaper than converting tires.

Seems my tractor could use the 25 X 8.50 - 14 in front and 13.6-16.1 in the rear for turfs. I don't think I would have to change the ratio....right?. I also looked up the spec's on a Yanmar YM226 and these size turf tire was an option on that model. Wondering if John Deere or Kubota used these sizes at all. I wonder if there are any tractor yards with some of these available in the Northeast.

I wish I could not run this over the lawn but.....

Any idea what a set of these R2's are worth? Also - Can I cut the lugs down to minimize the impact on the lawn? Just trying to think of my options....

Even the links to Ken Jones tires would cost about $1000 for a new set of tires....Can anyone say OUCH!

Rolling circumference of the tires is the key to maintaining correct ratio. I do not know what your ratio is. If it were me I would want to keep the ratio close to correct. There is a simple formula for finding the correct ratio if you know your front to rear ratio and tire circumference. I believe these tractors are to have 1 to 4 per cent lead on the front tires. If you know or can find the circumference of the tires you now have and the tires you are listing you can run that formula and find whether they would work or not.

I have seen the turfs for yanmars on CL in the charleston SC area once. They were the tall ones that went on the ag rims. they were rears only, wernt a bad price but i dont have anyuse for non griping tires as i do dirt work and bushhoging not lawn cutting.

They are similar to the turfs used on old international cubs.

I talked with Fredericks today and they have those turf tires. They are referred to as R3's. Turf tires and will fit on the exsting rims. About a grand with shipping for fronts and backs.

In my opinion that is way to much! I would try and find a tractor salvage yard and see if you can find a set of something to fit. You will ahve to make a set of custom adapter rings to fit. I would not worry about the size and ratio so much as you will use them for mowing and should not need 4wd. The pain would be you will have to swap back to the original tires for real work so you dont bind up or break something with wrong size tires. I think you may just need to stay of the lawn when wet or do like others said and buy a riding mower for the manacured areas.

I have a YM220 with turf tires, 13.6X16. They are 13.6 wide and the hight is 37.5 and a 6 bolt lug pattern. Will these rims interchange?

the repair manual for a YM220 lists a choice of 13.6x16 turf tire or the 9.5-24 ag tires. Based on that, seems they would interchange.

Scotty Dive, have you already swapped your agriculture tires? If not I have a set of 9.5x24 turf tires on my ym240 and am looking for ag tires.
