Guys,

I have the same type of gauge that john is talking about. They are not as convinent since you need to evaluate the reading while the gauge is on the tire. But its the way to go for liquid filled tires. Tractor supply has them.

My tires are not liquid filled so I use a regular tire gauge.

I agree with the statments about cheap gauges. I bought one of those cheapo gauges several years ago and it was worse then not having a gauge since it was wildly wrong.

As to a lack of conclusion on the subject;
My two cents is that running the rear tires a little higher (24psi) than the manufactures maximum of 18 psi gives me a more stable tractor. Potential penalty is premature tire failure.
