This may seem like a stupid question, but I'm looking at tire pressure settings in the Branson manual and don't know what to make of this (see pic). I grew up on PSI. image.jpeg

It is a good idea to look at the pressure rating written on your specific tires. My rear tires have a limit of 20 psi, which is below what your manual says. I looked in my manual, it doesn't list any tire pressures.

Also, it has a lot to do with how you will use the tractor.

Example - I have either a bucket or grapple on my FEL. I keep the front tires pumped up fairly high so I don't roll them off the rim with a heavy load - around 35psi.
The sidewalls say I can got up to 40 psi.

- the rear tires, I run at 18 psi - so the chevrons/bars make full contact on a hard surface.

I always try to adjust based on contact patch when loaded

Me too. Since ride is usually rough, I do everything I can to smooth it out. TP definitely is in the equation. On manual value vs max tire pressure, you need to do as Cougs fan mentioned and look on the tire sidewall since a lot of tractors can run R-1 thru R-4s and the pressures are different....i'd assume since the tire structure is different.
