Traction Tire Swap - R-14 Versa Turf In - R-4 Out

I would love a set of those for my 1710. Right now I have an R3 Diamond tread on the rear which provides very little pulling power but does float nice and does not mark the lawn and with the FWA I don't get stuck. Still i would like to have more pulling/pushing power without giving up the flotation. I can't find these in a 13.6-16.1 tire.

Cat385b,
I agree with you about tire choices because if any of the tires you mentioned were available I would have gotten one of them too. Mine came with R-4's and the salesman said if I wanted any other tire then I would have to purchase it. He said they wouldn't give me any credit towards another tire and I would just keep the R-4's and have two sets of tires.

Seems like Agco is behind the curve on this compared to Kubota, JD and a couple of others.

My dealer had to hunt to find a set of turf tires. They are large chain in the Midwest, I think they have 40+ dealerships. No charge, just took a little time. I think I値l let AGCO know theyæ±*e behind the times.

After seeing this thread, I began watching videos and searching for sources for these R14/versa-turf tires, and am surprised they are not more readily available and promoted. Looks like they have been out for a few years and even though they appear to be a great mix of features for a property-owner, and while there were a flurry of videos out when they first appeared, almost nothing since.

My R4's still have a bit of meat on them, and I'm now running tire chains on all four tires for snow blowing, but when time comes for new shoes, versa-turfs it is.

When I was looking to purchase the Versa Turfs, I only found four, or five places online that sold them and it was surprising to me also. Hopefully, Massey offers them at some point in the near future as it is a nice tire option that Kubota, John Deere and a couple of others now offer.

I looked for them in 41x14.0-20 for my 4410 rear tires. Nothing yet. Fronts would be ok as I switched them to 26x12-12 a long time ago.

Closest I could find was the Titan R14T in a 43x16-20.

My area received the first moderate snowfall of 6" overnight and I was able to evaluate the Versa Turfs for the first time while using the MF2360 front snowblower. The snow was not heavy and wet, nor was it light and fluffy, but somewhere in between, and I found that the traction was excellent, with no spinning, or tire slippage. My driveway is paved and fairly steep, but I had no issues using only 2wd. I have about 170lbs of suitcase weights, plus my fat gut, to assist with traction and was happy with how the Versa Turfs performed.

As we get more snow under different conditions, I'll continue update the how the tires perform.

I hope this helps anyone looking at this style tire.
