/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif...gotcha to look.
okay, i know it's not a self destruct button, but there is this little button on the joystick that controls my FEL. i've read the owners manual, which is a big deal for me, i was one of those kids that always through the instructions away, and took everything apart. it was probably in the manual, but since i'm writen instruction challenged...what is it?
thanks to all who read instructions and understand,
paul

I don't have a TN 65.. but have seen similare setups.. My guess would be an auxilary rabbit/turtle switch.. or an idle up switch to give more hyd' umph. while using the laoder.. my money is on the rabbit/turtle switch though..if I had to guess.

I would guess that you have 2 options, either push the button and see if it "self destructs" OR read the manual again and see what it says that it is for. I have read my manuals 3 or 4 times and each time I learn something new. A $30,000 machine deserves a second reading of the manual. Best of luck, Frank

When i worked construction my boss had a case backhoe that had a button on the joystick and when you pushed it in it disengaged the tranny so you wouldn't accidently shoot forward or backwards if you stepped on the gas pedal.

If you have the electo shuttle, I imagine its a switch to put the transmission in neutral. That's how the new CAT backhoes work.
I have a TN65, but I don't have the electronic shuttle shift.
If you are in doubt and can't find anything in the manual (sometimes they are fairly generic) just give the dealer a call. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Are you talking about the button/ring that is just below the joystick grip?

If your TN is a hydro then it's problably just like my TC-40D. An auxilary rabbit/turtle switch made to give you more or less speed when pushing into a pile for loading. Try it, see what happens.

thanks all.
i like the rabbit/turtle theory. i don't get home till dark, and the tractor is out in the barn at the other end of my property. i have to finish painting the house this weekend...Birds helping me with advice about my sprayer, but then i'll get to push the button(it's a small, eighth inch diameter button, don't see any ring). Frank, i did re-read the manual, both the tractor and FEL loader, and there's no mention that i can find. we'll see.

TN's don't come in Hydro so it has nothing to do with the Rabbit/Turtle theory. I don't have that button as I have a stock TN 65 from the first year they were made. Yes, I know, she is getting old but I still love her but I have considered getting her a bigger sister some day (adoption is the only way to go, faster then making your own /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif)

Its still unclear to me, what button are you talking about?

Here is a shot of the joystick on my TN D model.
Yours look the same?

The 3-point levers are missing because this was during my 3rd remote upgrade.
