Here is the same model from an e bay offering tig 300 300.jpg

Can't believe some of the prices that are being asked for this model, this one looks much much nicer than the unit I am getting...

I have an old dinosaur TIG welder myself. It's a Miller Dialarc HF, 310 amps AC and DC. Once I got used to it and learned better technique (from watching YouTube vids) I really like it. Not much to go wrong with it and those extra amps are very nice when welding on larger pieces of aluminum.
I would get that Lincoln welder in a heartbeat! You can't go wrong, I bet anything it needs can be fixed cheaply.

300 / 300 is a solid unit. The only struggle you will have down low is that you have to ball the tungsten to do alum. You'll get the hang of it. It's all about arc characteristics and heat affected zone due to the pure balled tungsten. Not a deal killer. Back in the day the grey units were always thought to be more industrial than the primer red or red colored machines. . You will likely be able to put it in your will. Lasts forever.

Well Guys- I got it-

this thing is even larger than I imagined, My 2 ton cherry picker didn't quite get it to clear the truck bed and we had to tilt it to get it to roll in.
The gentleman selling it was a real nice guy that just wanted it to go to someone who would try and get it up and running versus just gut it to sell the copper.
I guess when they were unloading it originally- they tried to use a cherry picker that was in the pick up bed and the legs overcentered and it took a tumble out of his truck:shocked:

So here's what I ended up with a ,

ck-17 torch
a free new clutch cable for my 1978 KZ-1000 (we were talking bikes and he miss ordered it for his KTM dirt bike)
Victor regulator
Tig 300/300 with body damage equipped with code H high frequency board and code c condenser pack

Total price all in $60!!

If this machine works it will be one of the best bargains I have ever scored,

Thank You Jeff - you are a gentleman and a man of your word.

I saw the ad on craigslist and sent him a text that being in unknown condition would he take $80 and his reply was hows $50 sound?
I said that sounds great and as long as it is a single phase, I would take it.
Since our first texts christmas eve several people called and offered more but he told them he had already sold it. I almost had to force him take the $10 for a new clutch cable.

i will try and update tomorrow after i unload it with my tractor :D:thumbsup:

see above post- it's home
it's funny how things work out... i remember your post asking about the chinese plasma cutter combo units, and I just had to buy the Lotos because of the $399 price. But if this Lincoln works it will be a better deal...

Hoping she still works, it did take a tumble out of a pick up bed years ago and hasn't been hooked up since.

I found a label on it and it apparently was originally owned by WSU- Washington State University... Have to wonder if it came out of a welding classroom?
