Oh why not...

It would be Mahindra as first choice. A dealership is right up the road, lots of stock on the lot to choose from. They'd have to go cheaper though, when I priced them there before buying my Kub, they were expensive as any of the big 3.

Second choice Kioti. I hear great things about them...and at least they got their color right ;)

I really like the look, feel and quality of the Mahindra's. Everyone I know around here who owns one swears by it and like someone said in a previous post, "they have been around a very long time".

I'll throw my vote. I'll first pick a Mahaindra 15 series (Mitsubishi Tractor) or Kioti DK series

Looked at them all. Kioti!!

I got a dk55 cab 4wd and it was considerably less than the big 3 in price. I have not had any buyers remorse.

Mornin Highsmith,
Im gonna go with Mahindra ! The company has been around forever, and did work for International years ago. Yep, Mahindra ! ;)

They bought the molds from IH when they changed the models. They never worked for them. I do wonder about forever!

I'd get an old Ford from the late 50's early 60's. Maybe an industrial Deere in safety Yellow...

I agree totally. ISO 9001 does not guarantee quality. It simply means that the company has procedures and that their employees know about the procedures, where to find them, etc etc. A company has to pay an ISO auditing team to come in and certify them. It is a big money maker for consultants who get corporations on the ISO band wagon and a money maker for the inspecting firm.

And so as not to high jack this thread, I would take a Kioti as well.

Mahindra for me too even if the $$ were equal ... as long as I have a dealer near by.

Mahindra is the ONLY tractor company, including the major ones, to have earned the Edward Deming prize for quality. (He is the guy that came from the US and went to Japan and taught Toyota and Honda how to make a car when none of the big 3 auto makers wanted to hear what he had to say on quality)

Mahindra has a 98% custermer satisfaction rate.... they are like the JD of India.

Once they get a larger dealer network and they are working on it... they will be named among the top ones you listed. Mark my words on that.

Seems like some take the ISO standards serious... Mahindra seems to.

ISO 9001:2000 Quality management systems - Requirements is intended for use in any organization which designs, develops, manufactures, installs and/or services any product or provides any form of service. It provides a number of requirements which an organization needs to fulfill if it is to achieve customer satisfaction through consistent products and services which meet customer expectations. This is the only implementation for which third-party auditors may grant certifications.
