MF. Simply because there is a good dealer nearby. When folks ask what tractor brand to buy, most often they are advised that the quality of the dealer is more important than the brand, at least among the majors. So there is no one best answer because it all depends on the dealers in your area.

My nearby JD dealer is are great, so with no gun to my head, I'm sticking with JD since they give overnight parts service.

I'd go with an Escort built Farmtrac. There's a dealer nearby, prices are reasonable, they're based on a legendary Ford design and they're very popular in the fruit orchards around here. I may be needing a large, simple 70+HP 2WD for baler duty and Farmtrac looks like the most cost effective choice. Plus the '70s Ford lineage is unmistakeable in the Escort versions....and I loved those old blue dogs.

But they're still Blue aren't they.............Hmmmmm.

You have more faith in the ISO 9001 stamps of approval than I do. I have been audited many times for ISO approval and they are a joke. The inspectors see only what the company wants them to see.

I agree totally. ISO 9001 does not guarantee quality. It simply means that the company has procedures and that their employees know about the procedures, where to find them, etc etc. A company has to pay an ISO auditing team to come in and certify them. It is a big money maker for consultants who get corporations on the ISO band wagon and a money maker for the inspecting firm.

And so as not to high jack this thread, I would take a Kioti as well.

This is the reason I carry my own gun. If I can't have a John Deere, I may as well move to the city. JC
Edit: I just can't move to town, I would try NH I guess.

OK, richtidebruin, here you are. Montana, they actually have a dealer relatively close. Second choice would be Mahindra or Farmtrac.
