Hey Marlin fans,
I have a rifle which has JM on the barrel but the JM is not in a circle like I am used to seeing. Is that something they changed over the years?

Looking online, I found about half of the JM stamps pictured had no circle.

Thanks Bruce,
I am trying to do some investigation about a lever gun I purchased and things are different for it than what I first see on the 'net. This rifle does not have a letter before the serial number as most Marlin Firearms have.
I know someone, somewhere must have a way of contacting someone that knows how to tell what a gun was built as, and in what caliber, etc. I just haven't figured it out yet!

Well, that worked. First part of serial number starts with a 18, which I was finding to be rare, since most have a letter preceding the first 2 numbers.
That means built in 1982 which doesn't match up with what I find elsewhere on the receiver.

The reasons I have questions about the 1982 date, is the gun is an anniversary edition, of 125 years of Marlin, and on the other side, 100 years of the 1895 model.

North Haven marking on barrel, which makes sense. What doesn't make 100 percent complete sense is that it is a 125 year anniversary, which I would think would be 1995.
