Same for me; I'm now 56 and still have most of my physical strength.
I'm working on a rolling hoist too; at the moment I have a swinging gantry beam in my garage with a 1 ton electric chain hoist; but it doesn't cover enough area, and that's work area not storage.
I want to be able to mount and dismount heavy buckets and implements using very little muscle power, store and stack them.
So I can still use my gear as I inevitably get weaker.
There's gong to be some nice steel fabrication soon. While I still can!

I have one of those tanks and I mean 40 year long ago, how thick are they? look forward to pictures of your stove. See you saved yourself $17+, that's enough to buy breakfast at the local restaurant.

Mine was ancient and is 3/8 thick. I think the newer tanks are thinner.

"Let there be light"

I had a double head ceiling mount dentist light fixture that I finally got around to mounting. I separated the units and fabbed up new wall mounts.

Very cool! World's most expensive work lights. But do your teeth start to ache when you look at it?? ;)

I have no idea what the correct term would be, but that describes the thing. An I beam hinged at one end so it describes a half circle, with a trolley and hoist

I bought it at a factory auction in Belgium, and had to dismount it quickly single handed. It was 10' up and I cut the 1" bolts with a torch just to save time.
Now it hangs in my garage in Portugal.

It sure does make working on the car and tractor easier.

I worked on my wheeled box for moving firewood in the house. I ran out of plywood for the 4th side. I glued up scraps of plywood for that side. I've never done that before so we'll see how it turns out. IMG_0668.JPGIMG_0669.JPGIMG_0670.JPG

4570Man,

If you haven't used biscuits or dowels, I am not optimistic about the panel you have made from three pieces.

The way you have orientated the panels, all your gluing is to end-grain, which is basically useless.

At least, for the other joints, where you have joined two panels at a corner, a bit more than 50% of the joint is long-grain to long-grain (depending on the number of plies in your sheets. Even here, you would get significantly stronger joints with biscuits.

How are you planning on reinforcing the corner joints?

For the fourth panel, you would have done better to put the two larger pieces together to maximise effective glue area. The smaller panel would still be a problem, but at least most of the panel would have a bit of strength.

this is a very cool project. Always wanted a fire wood door (like a doggie door) but that slided, sealed and insulated, and just pull the firewood box in from out side. Getting a straight shot in is a challenge. Do you have a door near the fireplace?
