Too Much Tractor?

Correct Cathy, Not a GRAND L, just a "normal" L3700SU - the weight was a good bit less and the width I could get out of the MX series really sold me on it. The L was just way to tippy on all our hills.
We moved to an L after owning a B - the L seemed "big" at the time but was a mistake for us. Nice tractor, just not good for our terrain. Good thing is when I sold it I lost VERY little. Cost of education at the time.

I have about 25 heavily wooded acres and a half-mile dirt/gravel driveway to maintain.

When considering a new tractor, I spent a lot of time doing research and reading this forum. I opted for the MX5800. I keep a grapple bucket on the front and a skidding winch on the rear most of the time (sometimes the skidding winch comes off in favor of a chipper). I also have a land grader for the driveway that I have yet to get dirty.

I've only had it a relatively short time, but so far I'm very happy with it. I'm already considering a second, smaller tractor to get more access in among the trees. I have a lot of debris down in there and the MX is just too big for driving in there. I'm considering a BX or a B for that task.

Even though it won't make it into the forest, I've learned that, generally, you can never have "too big" of a tractor. I'm also warming up to the thought that you can't have too many either!

I've got 42 acres of woods with 3 acres of homestead. I've settled on a L3301 HST because of maneuverability and tasks that won't require the need for large PTO hp. I rented a skid steer with brush cutter and got stuck in mud within 2 hrs.
