Too Much Tractor?

As long as you don’t have to hire a lowboy to move it, it’s not too big.

If you are working with just one tractor the Mx5800 is about the right size, however I somewhat disagree with the above quote. I suggest you consider a second smaller "chore" tractor as it makes life much easier, but a larger M size machine seems the right size for your main machine.

I agree. A 2 tractor solution is perfect for many folks with larger acreage. The big tractor for big chores and a smaller B or L series size unit for chores around the house. The last 25 years I utilized a small tractor with a rear finish mower. Finally got a T4.75 New Holland and purchased a mower to keep the tractor off the grass. My little 1720 New Holland was IMHO the perfect size for mowing and doing stuff around the house.

"Why would he ask his wife? What are you three" No, he might just like getting in bed at night with something other than a bag of ice cubes.

So - you think the tractor you are ordering might be too big - - Call Tim the Tool Man and see what he has to say. rah, rah

The nice thing with the MX series is that you can widen it up for your steep hills. I had an L and power wise it was fine but the added weight and stability of the MX makes it perfect for our place.

According to Tractor Data, The L6060 weighs 3990 to 4365 pounds and the MX5800 weighs 3734 lbs; are these wrong?

He may mean the smaller L series like the 01's- under 3000 pounds
All the Grand Ls are pretty much the same weight. My cabbed L4060 is 5k with a loader & loaded rear tires. An economy L2501, L3301 or L3901 is about 3-3.5k lbs with a loader & loaded tires.

No clue how much the MXes are.

I imagine he was now that you mentioned it, that's what steered me away from them in my first ten minutes on the lot. I really liked the MX Series, but I have to have a cab. The MX looks more robust and the weights surprised me. I have fluid filled tires, but later added wheel weights.
