With a 30 horse motor will I be glad I got a tooth bar or not? I'm thinking, with just 50 hours or so under my belt, that having one will make it easier to dig in hard dirt/rocky/clay/sandy soil. But I don't have a lot of practical knowledge on stuff like this.

I'd almost given up on the FEL as digging tool till we got several inches of rain over a few days and a few days after that I went out to move some dirt and was pleased at the difference the rain made. I'm envisioning using a tooth bar at a high angle to the dirt to loosen up the top three or four inches. I know the soil will decide the angle and depth for a tractor this small. Should I get replaceable teeth with this tractor.

Thanks for your time.

Ron I don't own one, but everyone that does says the difference is day and night for digging..Our soils here is just a few inches of black dirt from thousands of years of cedar trees shedding over limestone shelf rock.. After I go down a few inches into going easy digging soil it is nothing but rock.. No need here for a toothbar much. But in areas where there is actual dirt, I could see how they would help a lot. By all reports the Phirana by BXpanded works well too. Even though it looks quite a bit different.

I bought a tooth bar and really don't use it much. I have a W Long. I use a Kioti cutting edge instead.

I didn't put a whole toothbar on, rather just bolt on teeth. As far as digging, I never really had any issues without the teeth. But I do find the teeth handy for lits of other things. Like lifting, pushing brush, and even breaking loose the top 1/2" of dirt prior to sewing grass seed when I am too lazy to put a disc on or something.

But I don't use it much any more for hard digging. Cause I got a big backhoe for that. So only time is if it is too soft for the how or moving/grading loose dirt. Neither of which would make much difference with teeth or without.

Yeah they make digging in hard clay or compacted soil really easy. Also helps grubbing rocks out. Before I had it digging in clay was impossible when dry. I put a bolt on construction attachments on my tractor it made a world of difference. Two bolts and its off for the winter.

I don't have one on my Kioti, but I do have a Piranha toothbar on my Kubota BX23. It makes a big difference. If you need to dig with your bucket, definitely get a toothbar. I highly recommend the Piranha from BXpanded.

I have a Piranha toothed bar addition on my 6' bucket, along with a 4' rock grapple bucket and a stump bucket. Both the grapple bucket and the stump bucket have the large, individual teeth and they dig far better in my very rocky, hard clay than the Piranha tooth bar.

I think the reason is because the grapple and stump buckets are narrower, while also have individual teeth where the pressure is concentrated, instead of being spread out along the whole width of the tooth bar addition.

Best investment ever! I have a 2008 ck30 hydrostatic and went with a WR Long bar,no regrets what so ever! I put over 600hrs on my tractor in 3 years.

Over these 3 years I cleared my yard to make way for my shop, that involved removal of 3 old out buildings, removing top soil, spreading gravel, and have actually dug a couple holes for burn pits!

Amazing difference from a factory smooth edge bucket, simply could not live without mine, 3 yrs and still going strong!

Well I thank you all for your time and the information I was hoping I'd hear. I was skeptical just looking at the piranha on line the the truth is in the dirt.

Thanks for being so generous with your time. My best to all of you. You guys made me think of another question uniquely suited to this group. But I'll post in a separate topic. May your hoses never leak.
