A toothbar is a hunk of metal that reinforces the cutting edge and has teeth that are removable (some are welded)...how hard can it be....choose size to match FEL, then look at weight and price. Nobody can tell if the welds will hold until years of use. I've actually never seen a toothbar failure report on TBN.
My toothbar weighs 130 lbs. It is a John Deere.
Actually... It has happened..this bar was never welded properly at the factory. As you can see in the photo the MIG weld never achieved any penetration on the bar.

Well, I'll be hornswaggled!!! Right you are...sucker busted right clean off...never thought a factory welder would have just barely tacked a tooth :shocked:
I stand better informed and corrected...thanks! I see several others have had the same thing happen, seems always to a flat bar. Never seems to mess anything up, simply weld back on properly and proceed.
