Some have said that a hole saw actually works the best.

The beauty of the hole saw is that you can clamp the TB in position, insert the hole saw in the hole or slot in the TB and it won't wander as you drill.

You shouldn't need a high torque drill, as long as the bit fits the chuck (and it is sharp!) you're good to go. Drill slow.

The Markham's are great. However, I have the WR Long flat toothbar, (FTB), and recommend it. You don't have to take the thing off to backblade. Everything is flat under the bucket, as if there is no toothbar there.
I feel the angle of the bucket when digging is a non issue, since you are constantly controlling and adjusting the curl when digging, anyway. Sort of going by feel after a while.

Nothing against the Markham as it is highly recommended here - but my dealer threw in the WR Long bar when I bought my BX24 and it is great. Especially as a noob, back dragging is a breeze since it is flat on the bottom. I think it is easier and smoother for back dragging with it on than off. And I have abused it and it sturdy.

Just my $.02 - either way you'll be glad you have one.

My BX24 bucket measures 46.5" internally, and a shade over 47.5" at the widest point externally. I'm planning to order the WR Long Flat Toothbar.

LOL...I measured my BX24 inside bucket dimensions to the best of my ability and my measurement came to 46 9/16 " ....I ordered my Markham toothbar based on that and it ships this week...we'll see...Melissa said they would make it 1/4" shorter than my dimensions....:p
