Tooth Bar?

Although I am relatively new here, I would like to see some way of getting quickly to core threads such as toothbars, FELS, Box scrapers, etc. Maybe we ought to talk to Mohammed about creating subdirectories under Attachments?

RhallVA, I'll just add my $.02. I went through this same process a couple of months ago and got similar answers. So I ordered a tooth bar from Steve Carver and had it on my JD4100 in less than three weeks. Just measure the inside of your bucket when/if you order. I was out today pulling vines and multiflora out of trees and digging out the roots. I also dug out a few stumps (under 4"), graded where the town snowplow had furrowed back my driveway and it froze there, all of which would have been difficult or impossible without the toothbar. I consider it a real good investment. And it does come off very easily. Just don't get too close to your pickup truck or pole barn! /w3tcompact/icons/blush.gif

just curious I have never looked in to a tooth bar but the more I read and check out web sites like http://www.carverequipment.com/tooth_bars.htm

the more I think about how much eaiser clearing the brush in my woods would be. I have a HD bucket for my tc40 the bucket has the pre drilled holes for bolt on cutting edge. I just got the bucket. I never asked about if new holland sells tooth bars or if you are better off getting a differnt manufacture for this. what are people thoughts or has anyone purchused one from new holland and what about do they cost.

Mine came from New Holland with my 16LA with a 60" bucket. Cost was about $225 if I remember correctly. I've got no experience with any other, but it seems to do all the things discussed here, including catching fence posts and catching timbers that hold up the barn roof (and catching ankles if I don't leave the teeth flat on the ground when I park it.) I've never taken it off, so can't vouch for the ease of that.

With or without a toothbar, the FEL isn't the best choice to dig a grave, though...
