JJ - am I seeing a newly painted yellow bucket? I love the color yellow and wish PT made the 425 in yellow. The bucket looks awesome with the teeth and the paint job. How about a picture of the entire bucket on your PT.

Unfortunately, some of us do not have the mini hoe option. I ordered the Markham Tooth Bar. I was told today it will be here in a few days. I have already been digging with this little 180 in hard packed clay, and I am quite impressed with the results.

As long as you know how to work the bucket take small bites and are not in a big hurry it does well. I am learning and getting better with it all of the time. I can't wait to get the tooth bar. This along with the small rock and dirt bucket should make the little 180 dig even better. I am sure it would make a big difference with the large material bucket also. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I am sorry for misleading anyone about the color, the close up picture of the welded on tooth is what I was trying to show. My teeth are black on a grey bucket. I think the yellow would be dirt color after a while anyway.

Thanks so much to each of you for your thoughts and input on the toothbar. I am still pretty much of a greenhorn (working with a green tractor, no less /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif) as far as working with ground engaging implements is concerned. That said, I don't think that I will be abusive of the L/M with teeth.

I have narrowed it down to the Markham and the Berlon {HERE} . The Berlon is a little different from the norm, with tightening adjusters on the attachment tabs to be used to snug the toothbar against the bucket edge if/when it wears. I don't know if that is a significant issue or just something to get busted in view of its seemingly vulnerable location inside the bucket. Does anyone have a Berlon, or thoughts on this adjuster?

Again, than you all so much for your help.

No experience with the Markham, but I put a Berlon (?? ordered from Johnny Products) on my Kubota and really liked it.

The teeth were so sharp/agressive it was actually dangerous to be around if the bucket was raised... we're not talking just shin-busters here, we're talking the possibility of stitches...

Worked really well though -- it would dig far faster/deeper than the Kubota had the power to handle...

EDIT: I've attached a picture for reference.

Well there’s a testament of how well they work. I have no experience with tooth bars, but I would imagine the adjustment is only to keep it snug and due to the fact that the teeth are replaceable. /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

I have been looking at the Berlon web site and they appear to have a number of attachments, in addition to the tooth bar, that might be useful in addition to or in replacement of some of the PT brand. Has anyone had any experience using the PT plate with one of the Berlon attachments? I have asked Berlon if they would supply their attachments with a PT plate and they are researching how the plate is made to see if they would be able to fabricate it for their attachments but I was curious if anyone had used any of their items other than tooth bars.

Well I just heard the dogs barking went outside and there sat
a large sharp toothy looking thing. Picked it up this thing is solid 5 large chiseled teeth. I think the PT will wear out before this does. Markham did a great job! Now let me have another go at that big ol tree stump in my yard. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
