Dmace, I give you too much credit I guess. If you believe tires and more importantly the driver had nothing to do with the hill climb you are blind to one brand, but we all knew this. Let's talk about the drag race or how the Torque Monster Ford burnt the tires for a good 2 minutes prior. Give it a rest.

Chris
Apparently the smiley face insinuating that it was a joke is over your head so here's another smiley face for you...
Also, your trying to say the driver may have contributed to the Ford not making it? You do realize the Ford was driven by award winning auto racer Tanner Foust whereas the Dodge was driven by a comedian, right?
Dont forget the boat anchor trailer that was hanging up on the rocks behind the truck.

Aaron Z
Yea, not too smart trying that with the trailer while the GM and Dodge did not. Again, it comes down to the driver.
Now your both confusing two different episodes. The show where they hauled trailers over rocks was with an 80's Chevy K5 blazer, 95 Ford Bronco and a late 80's Jeep Wrangler. BTW, the Ford broke as usual and the Jeep was the only one to easily make it up the trail with the heaviest trailer and still in one piece.

Ah, looking back, I must have missed the previous posts and only registered that one.

That show is a joke. Its not based on facts, just opinion. Ford wins this week and Chevy next week. The following week Dodge gets the nod.

I love the show but it has nothing to do with which is better no matter if they are testing trucks or station wagons. It more about beating the **** out of stuff and have fun doing it. Its which guy can crack more jokes, give the others a hard time, and more importantly who does the most advertizing during the show.

It was the GM that pulled the telephone poles and the Ford that pulled the 140 ton train.

Chris

You are right. I had the pulling stunts reversed on the Ford and GM.
The Ford burn-out was impressive.

I have had all the big 3 American trucks. My last the 03 z 71 chevy with 5.3. It was a great truck that I never worked on, except little things Heater wouldn't go off on driver side, all the gauges crapping out 1 after the other, and electrical stuff. But now I have a 5.7 tundra (made in Texas) that will tow way more with ease. So I have a Toyota to put up against your 6.2 GM. truck. Toyota can tow.:)

I saw the US version where they did the trucks. Thought it was dumb.

I like the UK version a lot better.

The U.S, version is a poor imitation of the original. I can't see it getting renewed for another season. Not that the original is a lot better with that egomaniac Jeremy and the obscure British "celebrities".

I hate to tell you this, but i think it was renewed. I had such high hopes for the series too. maybe season 2 will be better.

Even the mighty TGUK had a rough first season including personnel changes (if youve ever seen it). It took several years for the guys to gel into the "lads" you see on screen. TGUS's biggest problem is they have no Clarkson. Somebody like Leno could be a good Clarkson, if they let him speak his mind. I think thats a big issue with TGUS, "Cant offend the sponsors"

I saw the show last night. Super Duty 450,Ram and Chevy H.D. Not really a clear winner. All were pretty good. They gave it to the Chevy with a laugh.

Ford pulled down two telephone poles
Chevy pulled train engine and one car
Ram pulled down a house

You say the chebby pulled the train? :D

I have no doubt that a Tundra can tow...That really wasn't what I was saying. A Tundra is a fine truck.

I had an '04 GMC Z71 5.3. The only problem I had in 100k was the dash cluster going out...GM replaced it under warranty and never had any other issues.

You're right, I just found the first 4 episodes of season 2 on line. I'll have to check it out. However, I can't seem to find it on History Channel Canada. Then again, History Channel US didn't renew Ice Pilots, one of the best shows of the decade.

Well, TGUK doesn't care who they offend and the BBC just covers up for them. But that's a State broadcaster, supported by taxpayers, not sponsors.

I know. And that will be their downfall. If its not the sponsors, it will be the special intrest groups. Greenies and womans rights.

Could you imagine the outrage if TGUS commented that a German car had a SatNav that would only lead it to Poland? That was comedy gold right there. Or a car that was a little "Ginger Beer" (ill let you look up what that Brit slang means):D

I agree on Ice Pilots. Great show. Do you guys get "Dust Up" a show about crop dusters out west? Its a fine show as well, and close to home as ive done a bit of ground crewing. Most of the guys i know are a lot like the ones on the show. You got to be a bit wacky to spray.
