My dealer just installed the T&T on my DK40. I have a 7' HD box that is the main candidate for the system. However, the top cylinder is not long enough to tilt the box back so i can just smooth a driveway. It tilts way forward, but can only return to level. Do i have the wrong cylinder or do i need to modify the BB. It looks like it is about 4-6" too short(no it is not an Irish thing either:D )
The side link works fine & i am, able to tilt it to either side.

You may have the wrong cylinder then?
One thing I'd recommend in getting the right length is to simulate how you want your boxblade to rotate forward and aft. You need to determine how much travel the cylinder needs and what the retracted and extended lengths need to be. That is, rotate it forward to get the desired angle and measure that distance from your tractor connection to the boxblade connection. That should be the retracted length of your cylinder (or thereabouts). Then rotate the boxblade back for smoothing until you get the desired angle and measure that distance. That should be the fully extended length of the cylinder. Now, you may not get the exact retracted and extended length you desire, but you "should" be able to get one pretty close to it.
If you want the exact length, you might need to do some modification work by cutting and welding the cylinder connection to make it shorter or longer and do the same on your boxblade connection. It takes a little figuring to match up the OAL (retracted and extended and considering travel) of the cylinder and where to put the connection points, but I actually did that on my set up, so it is very close to what I want the boxblade to do now.

3R, so you added an extension onto the BB?, That looks like it is what i will have to do. Now i need to put the bush hog on & see if that fits........

There is no good reason that the hydraulic top link can not be close to the right length. Do what 3RR said to do as far as determining the extended and collapsed length that you need. Then go back to your dealer and have them get you the right top link. It should be no big deal. I would do that before I started to even think about making some sort of extension.

Good luck

Yep, I was able to tilt my box blade forward or back far enough to smooth the dirt or gravel I spread. In fact, I found it made a fast job of smoothing if I tilted it all the way back, ran forward, then tilted it all the way forward and ran backwards. Back and forth a couple of times and it would be smooth.
