torch flashback?

Took it back twice, and have the same problem when changing from cutting torch to rosebud or heating tip. Surely there is some hope for this torch. It's not that old. Would that be the o-rings or seat? Victor dealer replaced the o-rings and that didn't seem to help. I asked the dealer if I could buy a seat tool and he gave me a price which was way over my price range. I still think the flashback to where the cutting or heating tip is connected is the problem, and can be repaired.

Which Torch handle do you have? Should have model on it somewhere. Also, What size heating tip do you use and what fuel do you use. Lastly, What size is your fuel tank. This can be solved. You say it actually flashes back with a heating tip on it? Does the heating tip get hot?

If it pops with a conventional rosebud, it sure ain't the cutting attachment. If you are using the rosebud which attaches TO the cutting attachment, then it could be the head.

What psi are you running? I cut with about 8 psi acetylene and 30 oxygen.

I'll have to check on the bottle size tomorrow. They are about 5' and the heating tip size. Biggest problem is when cutting and getting the popping back and the whole cutting torch part gets hot. Got a new head today and seem to have solved the problem, but now to find a good victor rebuild dealer that tests the torch before they send it back.
