torque spec vs thread pitch

According to this chart the torque specs are more complicated than the simple inclined plane model I mentioned earlier. Life is usually more complicated than it seems at first.

Most of what I have seen torqued over the years gave a +/- 3 ft pounds tolerance. That's a 6 ft pound window which gives you some wiggle room no matter the thread pitch.

There is only a 2.5 pounds difference of torque between 1/2-13 and 1/2-20 thread. Fine thread bolts are a lot stronger than coarse thread bolts. By a bunch.
