valves and operators seat- the valves are just in series so I can only move one cylinder at a time. The back iron pipe fitting you see is on the return end of the valves, so it will never see over 20 psi of pressure at max.

I love the seat on your machine !! Its more comfortable than the steel pan seat of the towable tractor PTO backhoes that were popular in Holland in the early 80's.. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I too have a similar machine, called a CRICKET by Toehoe.
It differs a bit in that we can swap the wheels with fixed legs that have claws when digging to prevent slippage.
In digging mode the wheels are behind the operator and we can 'hop' the Cricket foreward to change position.
For towing around the wheels are inserted as in your machine with the claws stowed in the other socket holes.
Other that the propulsion being a 'hop-along' (slow) exersise I have found it to be most efficient and very stable platform.
Mine is powered with a mere 6 hp but very powerful in that I have often extracted 45 gal drum sized rocks without great effort.
Origionally I acquired the unit with plans to convert to a 3 PT backhoe (all was there) but found it more useful as an independant unit, certainly more stable than on my 4 ft wide tractor.
Great job, makes me want to run out and start welding, but I was thinking of making mine as a 3PH model, and using the PTO to power the pump. Has any one made a back hoe like that, and if you have can you post Pictures.
